Education starts and fails in the home. That's a brutal inescapable reality. Nobody can stop a determined mind. Black people educated themselves under thread of death. Smuggled knowledge like contraband.

Now you can't get some people to care about or prioritize learning. What changed is the value for it.. you can learn whatever you want to online today. Where is the motivation. Where is the dedication? Nobody can stop a willing mind. The strategy needs to shift to start catering to kids who want to learn. Those that don't need to be out the way.

Man at this point you wasting your time explaing to people why education starts and fails at home

Save yourself and your family. If any black person comes to you thirsty for knowledge then that's when you give a helping hand.

In all seriousness the future of higher education is in trouble. Starting next year there’s going to be the enrollment cliff for all college and universities as it starts to match the massive population decline that started in 2007. Our HBCU’s are going to need to shift strategy and start recruiting Adult learners who want to go back to college. Feels like Jackson state could pull this off

....
so they say the drop in high school graduation rates is fueling lower college enrollment. so the answer is to close colleges ... another state might say "damn we need to tackle these high school graduation rates."
They probably still have slaves who don’t know that slavery has ended in Mississippi.

There are plenty of black kids doing what they need to do.
