And have you ever watched a local campaign ad for Mississippi or alabama God is the 1st thing brought up in every single one. You dont win elections on policy in the south you win it with god and the bible in the church. People vote the way their pastor tells them.
Are they stupid? Yes. But it's not the biggest factor;religion is a major reason for the lack of education.

Yup, they don't call that region the bible belt for nothing. As long as they mention god all the other bs they're hiding behind their backs or even in plain sight, will be overshadowed. The way those deep south states uphold religion over everything is truly fascinating yet sad.

Most people in America are religious tho. It's not just a poor thing. However, if you're poor,(white) and uneducated odds are you're a Republican. If you're rich and greedy I understand why you're a Republican because it's in your best interest.

While I wouldn’t say I’m atheist or even agnostic, I always found it interesting how some of the most non-formally educated people can recite random bible verses word for word. Makes you wonder how knowledgeable they’d be if they applied that brain power elsewhere.

Gotta homeboy who’s daddy is a preacher for a church in Moss Point. They’re church doors are closed and will remain closed, as they’ve started having sermons online. My mom and pop stay in nearby Ocean Springs, with my daddy working at the shipyard in the neighboring city of Pascagoula. Them ship workers are still out working in conditions where they’re open to the virus big time; mainly black workers. Thank God my dad is in a position where he can work from home.
