Those people "gaming the system" are a drop in the bucket compared to the tax breaks the wealthy get. Quite frankly, I'm not too concerned about some dude who is at the poverty line finding a way to get a couple extra bucks. You know how to stop that? Get that man a job that pays well so he can't qualify for welfare. However, middle class people do not get fukked on a lot of things.
I am not blaming anyone, nor did I point fingers and say the poor do it more...

Just making a point that the only people losing in this system are the ones not cheating the system...

Poor people are still losing. Die earlier. More unhealthy. Less safe neighborhoods. Bad schools. Etc. Middle class is in that gray area where they don't have anything that directly benefits them all that much (or it's a mixed bad like Obamacare).

I say it only to say I grew up on welfare and i saw a lot of fraud and I personally have seen everyone I know on welfare commit some kind of fraud with it. So i think to qualify for it there should be some hurdles to jump..now in this case there is something wrong going on... but from my own experience I don't think it should be that easy to get Welfare cause too many ppl "game the system" not all but a lot do
Your own personal experience is just that, your experience. The statistics show that purposeful welfare "fraud" happens few and far between, much less likely than conservatives would like for us to believe. Also, in the grand scheme of things, what people call "welfare fraud" is barely a drop in the bucket compared to the corporate welfare that benefits only the wealthy.

Plus, so-called "welfare fraud" is oftentimes poor people trying to get a few extra food stamps or extend their Medicaid coverage. I had a client who forgot to update the county on her raise so she went over the income limit for food stamps for a few months. They convicted her for a felony. Elaborate welfare fraud doesn't happen anywhere near as often as people think.

Well my personal experience covers damn near entire neighborhoods in different cities and states ...but whatever the case I still think it shouldn't be so readily available and it should def have a lot of rules and regs and a time limit same with section 8

Why should it have a time limit as if there's a time limit on poverty and lack of job opportunities? So those chidlren should go hungry then? What are you saying? Moreover, it's already harder for POC to get welfare compared to white people in red states and has been since the 90s.

Its how I feel as I've gotten older.... at some point you have to take the training wheels off your life even if your poor ...I have always felt some kinda if way when I hear ppl crying about welfare getting cut... boo hoo... now take your ass to work or school or collect cans . Matter of fact it used to be shameful to be on welfare

Welfare is a social safety net program. It's not "training wheels." The vast majority of people on welfare already have a job. Do you know anything or do you just feel like that people on welfare are lazy and that there are these magical jobs out there that they're just not applying for? And why are you more upset about those people than all the rich people gaming the system? They hurt you a bunch more. In other words, you're one of those people that have a found a way through the maze and now you think you're better than those who haven't. I know the type. Most people on welfare are already embarrassed about it. No one wants to be "reliant." You ever had to represent someone who has to apply for it? And why do you get off on people feeling ashamed anyway?

"Boo hoo"? What type of a$$hole gets happy about welfare being cut when the majority of people benefitting from it are children? Do you hear yourself? Just admit that you hate poor people and move on.

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
hashmander said:
"States are generally incentivized to reduce their TANF caseloads, given that any unused money can be redirected to other purposes."

this is the problem right here. unused money shouldn't be redirected to other purposes, then they would be forced to use it appropriately.

The reason the funds are redirected to other purposes is in order to force them to use it appropriately. The incentives are for PROPER reduction of caseloads and other criteria so that programs funded by the State can show where the money was spent and how effectively it was utilized. For this reason, any and all programs of this nature are highly monitored by State officials for compliance to strict guidelines.

Failure means you get LESS funds the following fiscal period or your program is defunded.

With that said, there is probably something else going on moreso than workers fudging numbers that can cause them to forfeit funding.

That's a pretty drastic drop.

I always tell folk this...

The only people that consistently lose in this country are what's left of the middle class tax payer...

Rich folk cheat the tax system and poor folk cheat the welfare system...

Rethuglicans blame the poor, Demopussies blame the rich and nobody gives a fukk about the middle class...
The vast, vast majority of welfare recipients do not "cheat the system."
And the Democrats are right, the the majority of the issue lies in the hands of the wealthy and their political lapdogs, representing their interests.
There's a shocking amount of blindness with people who pretend to be "neutral and hate everybody." :mjlol:

I don't want to be a dicc but you've provided no statistics and no actual argument besides your feelings. Having "a lot" of rules, regulations, and time limits doesn't actually help people. It just makes things harder for no real reason other than to make wealthy people feel good.
