I forgot about the fact that producers were biting the sound heavily. The producer of Busta's "What Its Gonna Be" bit them on several songs including Silk's "Meeting In My Bedroom" (down to the "ficky ficky" adlibs) and LSG's "My Body".

I know the collective was making music way before ( early 90’s Jodeci/Heavy D/R.Kelly era), but they definitely struck gold with Ginuwine’s “the bachelor” and “One in a million”. “Da basement crew” really made noise in 97. Static, Tim, Aaliyah, Missy, etc. “One in a million”, “the bachelor”, and “Supa Dupa Fly” really put them out there. “Welcome to our World” just solidified it. I think the 96’-97’ albums were the backbone of their run, especially “SDF”.

Tim used to be hot about that. I cant remember the song but I remember reading an article where Tim was pissed about somebody sampling his snares. Then at the end of Babyface, Everytime I Close My Eyes remix, he adlibbing at the end " dontchu bite it, dont bite my beat "

LSG had to nerve to put Missy on the my body remix with a knock off Tim beat.
