it is a perception that impacts how blacks are treated in a white-dominated society.so, whether or not it's technically accurate, mixed -- black/white -- people are black. they will be treated as black. they will suffer the same stigma of being black that a full black person deals with everyday.

That's not the stigma of being black. That's the stigma of being non-white. Why do black people think whites ONLY oppress them? Have you ever heard of Imperialism? It's not just blacks that get treated like shyt by white people.... believe it or not.

I'm gonna just drop this here regarding the inconsistencies of these "rules" of what is what.

Wow... if you were mixed with black back then you were a slave (unless your mother was white because women weren't raping men) so even if your father had money and owned a plantation, because you weren't white (according to the rule) you were a slave and had no chance of becoming "self made". That way money stayed in the white community. This is very basic shyt and I can't believe I have to explain this to black adults.... then again maybe I can.

No I didn't shoot myself in the foot. No where did I say anything about genetics. I was talking about how inconsistent society is in defining race. One second black is one thing. The next second it is something else. If you want mixed people to be black then fine. Don't call someone a c00n for saying mixed black women look better than "full" black dark skinned women. After all mixed is black, right?
