Black people are already divided....culturally, spiritually, linguistically, economically, politically, geographically, ethnically, etc....the only that even unites many of us is our race (skin complexion & hair texture) and even that is changing as some of you are saying that mixed race/bi-racial people are fully black.

Our unity shouldn't be based on rejection from white society....it should be based on the stuff I bolded

Being Black should just be first requirement, other requirements when it comes to "building" need to follow. Being Black racially should just be the first of many.

Did I say it should ever be based on white rejection? No.

Sometimes I have to question how tapped into your culture some of you are. Black people across various continents share a lot of cultural and political ideals, a long with economic and social placement. When you deny this, you expose your own ignorance to the matters of the diaspora. We are all very well connected.

And I'm sorry, but you alone don't get to establish the requirements of what black people should be. I feel like we've been down this road before. Please don't make me have to repost that thread where you were pretty much made to shut up because of the way you carried yourself, even shaming other Africans. You are confused, as past posts have shown.

You all can keep arguing over who is black or not, the rest of us will progress on to other things.

I think the fallacy in your argument is you assume that race is some universal truth that is constant across all nations/cultures. Race is totally dependent on society. It isn't some scientific construct.

Genetically speaking Bria Myles could easily have 50% white genetics like Rashida. Her genes just couldn't be expressed in her phenotype to the same degree that its expressed in Rashida.

Our society has decided that if anyone is mixed with black, then they are black. You can try to change that if you want. But don't act like your sitting on some universal truth based on science of something. Your just arguing for a position you feel is better than the one drop rule.

of course i feel my position is better than the white supremacist one drop rule, i don't see how you or anyone could support it using reasoning outside, "everyone else does too"

also the vast majority of biracial people do not possess the phenotype reflecting traits solely of the black race, so while its true that a half black/half white person could reflect the phenotype of only their black half, its highly unlikely. and even if it did happen, that person should be counted as a member of the black race. But that doesn't mean that their offspring are guaranteed to also be members of the black race. We've seen time and time again 2 black parents having non black offspring.

My mom is black and my dad is white..

As for your rambling, I ain't even from USA so it has nothing to do with what some white racist devils decided or not. My skin is black and I identify with the african side of my family and not my dads side. Hell, I haven't even met most of my relatives on the white side but I've met all of my relatives in africa, countless times. People in africa sees me as black and one of them, yet some american nikkas say I ain't black enough? :what:

I don't only say I'm black when it's convinient, fukk you talking about. I'm ALWAYS black, nomatter what. shyt, y'all american nikkas are some self-hating ones :what: Around where I'm from every one who got african blood sticks together, y'all be using filters and shyt :comeon:

Is there a reason why you haven't met all your relatives on the white side?

im not gonna waste my time arguing with someone who doesn't even follow the rules of logic

You're a complete idiot and you have no idea what logic is. There has never been a time when 2 black parents have produced non black offspring. Those are albino children in the pictures that you posted genius, not white or non black children. :snoop: The original person was black not white, white people come from black people not the other way around. Are you seriously this stupid? :ohlawd:

So the term "mixed" is for people that have a black parent and a white parent?
For everyone else its bi-racial :manny:
and a quick question. So what if you mix yellow and blue, and it still comes out blue :leostare:
but even tho it looks blue, it has yellow in it.. is it still NOT blue because there's yellow in there somewhere?
dont yellow and blue make green? i might be wrong but dont make fun ....i tossed my grade school lessons in the bushes :dwillhuh:

if an entire family can suffer from albinism, who's to say they couldn't start a race of melanin deficient, yellow haired people

Death To Spookism
I was listening to TJ Sotomyor's podcast when he brought up this whole mixed people are not black argument and to be fair he had some points, I think his main point was that some mixed folk try to straddle both sides of the fence when it's convenient.

My problem with the whole idea is that the idea of race is really a human construct used to categorize and colonize and we have taken it on without really questioning it.

When it comes to the children of the African diaspora you find that we come in many shades, shapes and sizes, we are a ridiculously diverse people.
