Waitress: $5
MJ: You’re Welcome

MJ: You’re Welcome

Gretzky’s exact response should tell you all you need to know about your question. You don’t go cheap in Las Vegas as that defeats the purpose of being there in the first place.
It sounds crazy because you don’t have Jordan or Gretzky money.

I get it, "whats 100$ to them", but Im talking about the service performed. Bringing a single drink (which the article suggests) shouldnt warrant a 100$ tip. I dont care how rich someone is. 5$ might be a bit low, but 100$?
Homegirl walked what...40 ft? And didnt even make the drink![]()
I’ve heard this too...then I’ve also heard stories from someone I know who worked valet at Fountainebleau Hotel, he said MJ gave them $100 just for parking his Carolina blue Ferrari.I can definitely believe it as it’s been said over the years that Mike is a notorious bad tipper.

Tipping culture/expectations are ridiculous.
$5 tip for a drink is fine, but the expectation that you need to tip more because you have money or are in Vegas is wild.
That's essentially the concept of how Vegas operates.........
Of course Vegas wants you to come in and spend all your money, that city is dependent on getting money from tourists.
That doesn't mean you're obligated to participate and overtip just because they said so, or because you happen to be rich. Jordan didn't do anything wrong.

No one is saying that he's doing anything wrong
Gretzky thought that Jordan was being cheap with his tipping and called him out about it as a friend and gambling partner. I've called out friends all the time for being cheap when it comes to tips and even covered the difference to make it right. If we're hanging out and going something to spend money, then don't skimp on the cheap as it embarrasses us all.
at saying "no one said he did anything wrong", then saying that behavior embarrasses others and is cheap.at saying "no one said he did anything wrong", then saying that behavior embarrasses others and is cheap.
How is his behavior cheap or embarrassing if he didn't do anything wrong. Why would you need to cover the difference to "make it right" if nothing was done wrong?

I understand your point with bad tipping, Im a 20% tipper as long as the service is at least decent. I just dont think a 100$ tip is warranted in any capacity for a waitress delivering 1 drink. I dont care how rich they are.No one is saying that he's doing anything wrong

And I assume once you set that mark, you owe 100$ tip for every drink she brings after that.
