The waitress would get the tip at the end of the tab if I was in that situation. I would need to see how the service was. I wouldn't be cheap regardless, but how much I gave on the up would depend on the service.
You don't have a tab at a table. Especially back then drinks were free for gamblers. $5 was probably less then the actual drink price

No he wasn’t. Gretzky didn’t even use his own money. He used MJ’s. Gretzky embarrassed :mjcry: in front of that waitress and you know he took it personally because he took everything personally

It's still simpin'.

Tipping culture/expectations are ridiculous.
$5 tip for a drink is fine, but the expectation that you need to tip more because you have money or are in Vegas is wild.

Exactly. Jordan gave her a bigger tip than the average person would for a drink but Gretzky evidently is used to showing out for the working class. Jordan instilled a work ethic in her yet still respected her. Gretzky made a mockery of her social status.

If you sympathize (simpherthighs? :lolbron:) with her, why not give her 2 chips? Or 4? We know you can afford it. Why even make her work for a wage at all?

Tipping big like that is to make yourself feel better, not to respect the worker :yeshrug:

On a whole nother note: can a hockey fan explain why this mofo Gretzky was so otherworldly dominant and why no one has ever come close to him? Were there rules in his favor in his era or some shyt? Like, shouldn't modern players be getting closer to him given they have been able to study his game for so long?:mindblown:

I woulda smacked Gretzky's Yamaka off for trying that shyt. Pull me aside...bust my balls a lil. But don't put your pasty hands in my tray and snatch my money out. You still gotta respect boundaries:stopitslime:

gretzky was seriously just that good..........mj my goat but Gretzky is clearly the goat in hockey.

They prolly playin big stacks (although why would they have 5 chips is a fair point). But typically if you play big, you tip accordingly unless service was subpar.

Whats wrong is a $5 tip for bring one drink? Casino's don't even trip on tips like that because they know they getting their money from gambling regardless.

Plus it was one drink. not like he spent the whole night and only gave one tip. i used to get 5.15 an hour when i was a kid. 5 dollars in 2 minutes it takes to serve a drink is a much higher wage.
