I don't like when people try to make a human issue into one specific to African-Americans. If you're Hispanic and you don't speak Spanish or relate to the culture, you get ostracized. It happens with Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Domincans, etc. We see the same all across the world, if you don't relate to the culture that birthed you, they look at you as tainted. In this case, we have a situation where we are actually oppressed and someone birthed of the culture is giving some soft answers...that culture he is birthed from has the right to be disgusted. If a Jew was like

"You know I dont really like to speak on Hitler and I don't really like to think of myself as Jewish, I'm just a YouTuber but Hitler was real and his message is still out there and we have to talk about it"

The Jewish community would be outraged and they would tighten his ass up. But when we do the same it's a travesty.

Right. It was an empty, safe statement, which is what most of his content amounts to unfortunately. I don't have anything against him. He was one of the first YouTubers I really followed. I'm not gonna question his blackness because it's clear he was raised in a sheltered environment that shielded him from discussions about race. But I'm not gonna applaud him for this statement neither. For the record, I don't think every successful black person needs to speak out. But if you're going to do it, the "I'm above the hashtags and speaking out because I play frisbee and I'm leading by example instead" shyt just doesn't do it.
