I worked with a black nerd before, I wrote him off at first but I was pleasantly surprised once he put someone in their place for questioning his blackness. He was a real one.

And she has first hand seen bigotry in school..

Right. It was an empty, safe statement, which is what most of his content amounts to unfortunately. I don't have anything against him. He was one of the first YouTubers I really followed. I'm not gonna question his blackness because it's clear he was raised in a sheltered environment that shielded him from discussions about race. But I'm not gonna applaud him for this statement neither. For the record, I don't think every successful black person needs to speak out. But if you're going to do it, the "I'm above the hashtags and speaking out because I play frisbee and I'm leading by example instead" shyt just doesn't do it.

hell yeah his statement was safe and he rambled like a motherfukka in that video. You’d think that he had no experience in front of the camera by the way he was acting.

he got pushed out of his lane and was basically forced to say something because now we’re at a point where every random company is even making hollow ass statements.

His safe zone is exposed now.

Him being a so called nerd is irrelevant. We need more brehs in tech period. Our relationship with tech can’t just be copping phones and using social media apps. A dude like MKBHD got a lot of little brehs looking at his content and these kids can now approach tech in a different way. But when it’s time tI speak up, he has to say it with his chest instead of looking like he’s thinking about his comfort zone getting wrecked.

he’s a heavy hitter now and is out here doing videos with Bill Gates, Kobe, Elon, CEOs of mircrosoft and Google. So he knows what’s at stake and he knows what’s up.
