It really ain't that hard to be an A&R these days if you actually know anything about the music business...
The folks that get paid usually just be friends of folks already in the industry... connects are everything.
Warner shut down there Urban division which MMG was on so the naturally had to move over to Atlantic which was above Warner if I'm not mistaken they will have little to no interaction with Jeezy but I doubt they will get as big of a push from the label as they did with Warner because Atlantic has more artist who have consistently move more units then them that semi complain about the promo etc.

rick ross/mmg was great on warner, they got creative control, put out some of good-great albums and made a ton of money, i dont see how ross signing with them is a loss, they ate good on there, made artist into household names, and gave buzz to underground artist, hopefully they can do the same on Atlantic also

Even Ross isn't a household name, yeah...they're some of the bigger names in hip hop,and Wale comes on first take... but nobody really knows who these nikkas are like that.
but then again... some folks only listen to rap, and only hang around black people when they're not at work.

nikka u knw im talkin bout in hip hop and to hip hop fans, most people in hip hop didnt knw or care for wale or meek, shyt gunplay has even gotten popular on the net when before he was a nikka in triple c's to u nikkas(i been fukkin wit him) , and now meek and wale or to of the biggest in hip hop at the moment, and have put out great music, and yea i only talk to black people, i dont have convos with white people besides work related stuff, i wouldnt knw if they like rap or not cause im not talkin to them about nothin but work, and if they did i wouldnt want to hear them talkin bout 50 cent, mac miller or wiz all day, i would have been slap the shyt out them and got fired

And yes in all hip-hop homes, Wale & Meek Mill are known about. But that's not even ALL hip-hop heavy areas though. Plenty of folks don't fukk with Wale OR Meek like that. Especially in a good part of the South and out West. By your definition, Yo Gotti, Waka Flocka & Chief Keef are household names.

and no u cant say yo gotti, waka or keef is household names, they cant go outside they region and be respected like that(outside of keef, cause he more like a south rapper), they aint selling records and outside of waka none really have any hit
all of his releases say Bad Boy/Interscope with no mention of MMG
so he's probably just an affiliate who's not actually signed to them

moving your label imprint from a label that's getting away from Urban Music.... to one that has a sizable amount of urban artists is BAD?

how can Jeezy have all this pull at Atlantic, when CTE is literally a Graveyard?
It don't matter what CTE do. what matters is what Jeezy has done
1 multi platinum album. 2 platinum albums. a gold album.
unlike Ross' solo projects, Jeezy mainly stay away from the big name producers(lower maintence with higher profit results) Dr. Dre features cost...all those 3k bars on GFID cost .
the put a lot of $$$ in Ross' last cd, and they didn't get the profit back they anticipated.
They spend a lot of air and radio money on MMG artists.
