Mobb Deep’s Prodigy has agreed to settle his lawsuit with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) but must tweet that the dispute was a “misunderstanding” under the conditions of the deal.

The New Yorker rapper filed a suit against UMPG in November alleging that the company had been collecting fees for his work as a featuring artist despite his publishing deal only covering his solo projects.

The suit demanded at least $57,000 for copyright infringement and other violations.

Court records filed yesterday (March 1) revealed that Mobb Deep has settled with UMPG. TMZ claim that the company agreed to pay him more than $150,000 in compensation.

As part of the settlement, Prodigy – real name Albert Johnson – agreed to tweet the following statement: "My dispute with UMPG was all a misunderstanding. Thankful that we resolved it quickly and happy to be continuing my long-standing relationship with UMPG."

Earlier today, Jonson tweeted those words in accordance with the deal but deleted them shortly after.

He then tweeted "#bbhmm", mostly likely a reference to Rihanna's hit single 'bytch Better Have My Money' which shares the same hashtag.
