Depends on how you move. In my 13 years in, I rarely hung around military folks. Stationed in KS, I’m chilling in Lawrence or KC. stationed at Sill, I’m in Dallas. Only time i rocked with green suiters was when I was stationed overseas and even the. It wasn’t to tough to avoid them (Okinawa & Germany).

I use to say this all the time when some freckled pale face would complain about welfare and other shyt. They really should be combining assets, installations, services, etc. Look at Space Force. It’ll be another justification for Some 4-star to beg for more money to add on to the defense budget when the Army and Air Force already have units that do the job they want this new shyt to do. It’s a waste. If I was in charge, I’d set each branches budget at a certain amount until an independent entity did a full audit

The guy who occasionally ran with my squad we had no idea how foul he was.

He got a surprise home inspection and this nikka had a grown ass Rottweiler the size of a dead greyhound. Even worst was his wife was (we never noticed we never saw her) was locked in the basement and looked like one of them drained zombies off "Lifeforce" vampire movie. Or how about our grimey ass supply sergeant who would come to the barracks at like 1am and try and force himself in female soldier rooms. His 14 year old daughter came up presto. And you can guess...he was the father. He probably should be getting out of prison now .

But we had a meeting, I guess in support of his wife after he was locked up. she was there. the daughter was there.....

A E6 in my unit got arrested for robbing 2 banks..

People go missing and die all the time on that post.

Oh yea I ageee Marines/ Armys operations are completely different deployed vs in Garrison. Hell some of yall dont even have real jobs in Garrison and just work motor pool or various details so theres a definite "switch" that gets flipped with yall when yall deploy.

Couple that with the "every soldier is an infantryman" mindset where you guys are constantly in danger and yea I get it how the damage happens.

Whereas in the AF you're doing the same job deployed as you did back home just on a 12 hour/6days a week schedule. Because of that The AF doesnt put a huge emphasis on changing operations for deployment (at least in the non rated operarions world) ..NO NTC or anything like that just "requalify on the m4, go through Self aid buddy care and CBRN again and you should be ready to go "

Yeah , i was an aircraft mechanic while i was in the AF ...and whenever it was time to deployed...nothing really change.
I would just be off the line longer since i would have a checklist to go through to be clear for deployment. I would get sent
to Dubai , and do 12 hours for 6 days . The workload would increase since they run more missions there than state side
but it would make the day go by quicker. It was just a cycle of work/gym/sleep.

KC-10 . I was com/nav. Only 2 choices for that aircraft was Travis AFB and Mcguire AFB. How about you?

Aw shyt I was on the U2 comm/nav shyt was easy then they changed our shift when deployed to 4 on 1 off I was out at Beale only other place we could go was Korea for that aircraft never got orders when I was in though I was waiting only went tdy

Yeah i only been on Tdy or Deployment. I probably would have stayed longer if i got orders to somewhere else. Comm/Nav was easy on the KC-10 ..i cant imagine on the U2 since its a smaller/newer aircraft.
i would mostly be swapping boxes unless we had to get into wires.
