The surrounding area is so dependent on Ft. Hood for its local economy that they're no longer allowed to deploy more than a certain percentage of soldiers at once. Killeen, Copperas Cove, other random shytty spots that surround that pothole in Texas... they can't survive without the run off from Hood. Even Bragg ain't that bad.

Those units are some shyt man. I remember my first night of staff duty with my unit was some training day shyt :mjlol: some dumbass MP got called over to quiet down a barracks party from some guys who just back from Iraq. He's SOLO. Dude asks me to come with him after checking in to log it at my brigade. No problem for me, right? Wrong.

This kid knocks on the door like he runs shyt :russ: before I knew it he got slumped and handcuffed to a chainlink fence two blocks down with his radio tossed on the other side :dead:

I'm just watching it all happen :lupe:
:mjlol::deadrose:

Yeah i only been on Tdy or Deployment. I probably would have stayed longer if i got orders to somewhere else. Comm/Nav was easy on the KC-10 ..i cant imagine on the U2 since its a smaller/newer aircraft.
i would mostly be swapping boxes unless we had to get into wires.

Man our shyt use to fly code 1 all the time only thing that sucked was our EW checks took forever if you was down range we was the guys who would roll out with the camaros when our shyt taxied out

Yeah, i would say half of our discrepancies was just pilots not letting the systems warm up lol.
Or them bringing in their own headsets and not working properly with the plane.

Come find out his roommate was in something medical and had access to some drug. He was knocking ol boy out and tootsie rolling on his cheeks.

Im sorry but Hood takes the cake. I’ve never heard of a half dozen or more male privates being jumped in their hooch then anally finger raped by everyone just to say “welcome to the platoon! You’re one of us now!”, at Ft. Bragg lol.

:mjtf: no way in hell . I wouldve been arrested asap

That's any occupation that even remotely requires any type of violence tho. It's like being deployed. For 9-12 months prior, you training me to kill the enemy, then for the next 12 months, I'm killing the enemy. Then you bring me back to American society and saying, "okay, return to who you were 24 months ago". It's not even possible for anyone regardless of MOS. I was admin but I worked at the CSH and on another FOB where we were isolated af. So hell yea I freaked out when I was standing in a line at Sam's Club and having a bunch of strangers running around all around me. No reintegration training on this planet can get you back to "normal". I kept myself grounded unlike a bunch of folks I use to be stationed with. They're till trying to adjust

Growing up my mom and stepfather were both army. My mom used to be a drill sergeant and my step pops did tours in Vietnam and the gulf war. The older I get the more I understand that they probably seen some fukked up shyt that shaped how they acted at times.

Luckily I never encountered tooooo much fukkery when I was with 101st Airborne
Again, every other place I've been to outside of Hood just really made it clear how fukked up Hood is. Its the absolute lowest point you can find in garrison life.

I would've happily done 20 years if Hood wasn't the first place I went to.

I remember I was working one job on base somewhere else and this brand new specialist I run into at the snackshop says he "can't wait to leave this soft ass post and get transferred to Hood :mjgrin:"

I legit spent the rest of my day angry :mjlol: IF you get sent to Hood, quit while you're ahead. The people who think they can make the most of it are the worst off.
