It's your mother, there shouldn't even be a thought process behind the decision.

Breh, don't listen to these heathens on this site. Do for your moms man.

Only if you are comfortable and can afford the repayments.

Did the same for my mum. She paid okay for a year then fell off so I had to pay for myself.

Don't do it if you can't afford the monthly repayments. She WILL fall off after a while.

why not get a cheap ass car? something under 8K

that's what im leaning toward. she swears she needs an SUV but i might see if she can be talked into a reliable Toyota camry or sumthin. :patrice:

that would be the approach i would take, but im about to take a risk professionally and I may be in a money bind in a year or too. :wow:

see im torn between this

and this

to be fair, i think my mom could make payments but i dont trust her to do it consistently for like 5 years. my credit is all i got. i worked hard to have it pristine

tell mommy to pick a used car that she can pay for upfront. No car payment just insurance and tax. Dont co sign for anything!!

hmmm..... such a paradox

for you to be reluctant means that your mum didnt do such a good job of raising you...... but if she didnt do a good job can she be trusted not to fukk up your credit

I love my mom's to death, I'm literally gonna give her a kidney so she can get off of dialysis. But I still wouldn't cosign for her. If she's not financially responsible, you're setting yourself up for an L.

It'd be better for you to give her a couple thousand and buy a car straight cash.

true...one bad financial decision can take you years to recover from....you may even create bad friction between you and mom.

This is dumb

If he knows that his mother is not trustworthy when it comes to paying bills then he would be a fool to cosign for anything

He is the child not the parent
It is the parents burden to assist the child esp if they did not teach the child how to do for self
It is not his job to suffer for a grown woman that should know better

I do for my parents
Only because they have been good parents and taught me how to be responsible
I wouldnt do shyt otherwise

Don't do it.

you guys are despicable. y'all advocating treating your mom like she's that "friend".

Not really. If her credit is already bad, she has nothing to lose if the goes bad but if his credit is good then this could ruin it. and it will take a long time for him to recover from it. You have to think of yourself. :yeshrug:
