He is never the centerpiece of a storyline, so after 4-5 years of booking him like this to try getting Roman over with no success, it’s hard for the crowd to care at all since they know that he’s basically only going to lose to one guy no matter what he does.

They sacrificed Brock for good in the eyes of the fans to give Roman one last push, only to lose Roman and go back to Brock. Putting the belt on Brock at Crown Jewel was a hilariously bad move.
