You are completely missing my point. There is a significant population of black police officers (pending your city). Im asking, why has nothing changed? I dont need all the fluff of everything else you are talking about cause that can be addressed if I felt pressed to do so. So again, minorities constitute a large portion of the police force. Im asking why has nothing changed?
The answer is because there is no such thing as a black police officer. They are simply a police officer. No less likely to brutalize, turn a blind eye or protect the shield rather instead of the community than a cac pig is. A buttered biscuit is a buttered biscuit whether it taste good to you or not.
I can say in my city it has changed. And I'm pretty sure someone of age can recognize it has in other cities.
Not too long ago, it was just accepted that you will get your ass beat by the police. No matter what people will say, nikkas not getting their ass beat like it's 1985.
There's still a ways to go because the racism is deeply entrenched in many cities and departments.
There's a tipping point which must be reached in a department. A certain percentage of the officers black, and black officers in leadership positions before tremendous change can occur.
So things HAVE changed for the police wherever you are, I feel comfortable enough saying. I'm old enough to remember how it was when they barely hired any blacks.
And yes, a real black man or woman isn't going to brutalize or allow you to be brutalized. I know this because I witness this and talk to other officers who won't stand for that shyt.
