I don't understand the whole "just be healthy" thing that always gets brought up in these threads.

Heart disease, obesity, and a gang of other health related issues run rampant in America. Most of The Coli, and by extension America, is not healthy.

Half you cats saying you're in shape, are lying. Let's be real here. It's the internet, you can be whatever you want.

Anyway, most people spend most of their lives not making healthy choices, they damn sure ain't gonna start due to a pandemic. Most of which don't even acknowledge as a threat, in the first place.

So it's kinda silly to bring up. I get why, and it's technically good advice....but it's not realistic advice.

Fred.

This is what I've been saying for a while now. People are suggesting they go on some super lean and green diet, exercise for an hour a day and cut out all of their unhealthy habits instead of taking the vaccine, when people at large tend to be lazy. Why do all that when you can just take the vaccine and have some semblance of peace of mind (even though the vaccine is not a cure)? Those suggestions are asking a lot out of people that never felt inspired to do that prior to the pandemic, and I doubt that's going to change on a large scale.

Like you said, it's good advice in theory, but that should go without saying no matter what the state of the world is in. Those are lifestyle changes. But I'll never tell people not to do it though, better late than never.

It's all about context.

The site been up damn near 10 years now and 99.99% of these cats giving health advice never did that prior to the vaccine roll out. Let's keep it all the way live here.

If they promoted a healthy life style in general, cool. It's great advice.
But it's being weaponized by folks that are very obviously anti-vaxx. And then on top of that, they ain't healthy, either.

Which is why I said, people need to stop lying. Look at all the junk food and/or fast food threads on here. People are eating like shyt, drinking, smoking.....I mean, most of America does it.
But let it be about the vaccine and suddenly everyone on The Coli lives on a farm and grows their own food and runs 10 miles every day before breakfast.

And for the record, I have zero posts promoting the vaccine. People are adults, do whatever you're comfortable with. But cats need to stop lying. They did the same thing with the vaccine mandates. "Oh nah bro, I basically only work for fun and got enough money to where I can retire at 33....my job can't make me do shyt!"

Anecdotal experience doesn't equal clinical knowledge of the virus and it's effect on every other person, that much should be evident by now. I've had friends end up in a induced sleep to save them at 31 with perfect health and a active lifestyle as well as family members with three co morbidities doing drugs and drinking during them being infected and some being a symptomatic only to have health issues after. I had members of my family on the brink of death with an underlying condition like asthma which they had as a child but grew out of ,only to have the asthma return after they had covid. That chest thumping some get into after they had Covid bothers me but I understand..

My place of work has a ton of free take home Covid tests that I am going to stock up on. A member of my family had a rough go with Delta a few months ago and their job mandated they get shots now. You probably wouldn’t be shocked to hear that since they eventually got over the first bout that they feel they shouldn’t have to get vaccinated. This is what we are dealing with.
