Yes we can go all out for campaigns (where the money coming from for this?) but what good is it if the person in charge of the child doesn't wanna listen. When abortion is exceeding your live birth rate in a given year then there has to be proactive solutions on ways to reverse the current trends taking place if we expect to exist in this country for the long term.

Poverty in the western part of the world is totally different than the back breaking poverty you see in the third world. so I don't know what you mean by poverty because the average poor person in the first world(America) lives a middle class life compared to impoverished countries in the developing world.

As of right now there are no standards in the black community on acceptable behavior or proper parenting techniques. Money is not required to promote a certain way of living and how we raise our children. We create popular trends every year amongst ourselves when it comes style of clothing, entertainment etc so I'm sure that if we decided to promote a code of conduct on how we conduct ourselves and how we raise our children it would pick up across the country.

It's just hard to see us losing ground in raw numbers every year and feeling helpless to stop it.

Of course, then you look over at the Jews and how they are organized....a small ethnic group can build DYNASTIES in this country if it is willing to fight for it.

Whites, Asians, Hispanics and Arabs may not agree on everything but they are on the same page when it comes to certain issues.

If we can create popular trends amongst ourselves from clothing, entertainment, slang and dance that spreads nation wide I'm sure we can encourage or promote a code of conduct and proper ways to raise our children that will do the same.

For example: as a race if we all made a collective agreement nationwide to prepare our children at an early age to become lawyers, doctors, teachers service technicians, computer programmers...etc our future would be a lot brighter.

I'm just telling you that the current abortion rate in a city like New York is unacceptable for black people as a collective group. Your argument is that better parenting skills need to be instilled in individuals before the abortion problem can be fixed and I object to that notion. Both can be done at the same time by fixing the parenting problem while encouraging more Black births.


If a person not ready for kids then they should either abstain from sex or use the proper safety precautions to prevent an UN wanted pregnancy.

You make it seem like African Americans are the only poor people in America when there are others who face the same financial situations that black people face but they still manage to expand their population.

To some extent this article is sensationalist bullshyt...yes, there are too many black people getting abortions but the article makes it sound like black people are dying out or the black population is shrinking, which is simply untrue. The birth rate isn't low enough that something like that is a legit concern. And forcing every chick that gets pregnant to have the baby (regardless of whether she would be able to afford/raise a kid) would only exacerbate existing problems in the black community.

That said, I dislike abortion as much as anyone and would certainly like to see lower numbers. But the way to do that is better sex education and more widely available contraception, rather than trying to outlaw abortion (which won't happen, and would create a black market for abortions even if it did) or force chicks to go through with unplanned pregnancies.
