Let's bring all the jobs back, executives stop being cheap ass penny pinchers and train some damn employees and keep it american

A lot of the manufacturing jobs people are clamoring to bring back, are ones that require minimal skill. These would not be high paying jobs, and with all the regulations, prices would skyrocket which would create a problem in itself. The high paying manufacturing jobs are also overseas in places like Germany and Japan where you need a degree to do them. These are the jobs that would bring middle class jobs back, but we don't have an educated workforce to tackle it...

At the beginning of mean streets
:dead:

The treatment they get is really fukked up. I know a lot of homeless people became homeless after they were kicked outta the hospital and their families gave them the deuces .

They can't even make any reasonable income to afford shelter, but somehow millions upon millions of dollar can be thrown at dumb shyt like potato salad.

I really hate when people are mistreated.
Shelters unfortunately are subject to crowding and barely any funding. And there's a huge misconception that homeless people are alcoholics and drug addicts, when a lot of them have mental illness and can't handle shelters. That problem really needs to be addressed.

America (white middle class America) has an obsession with the proverbial bootstraps. They cannot reconcile the conflicting views of America being the best nation on Earth and people not being able to prosper here.

We need to elect officials who will address this issue. The question is, what is the solution? What solution will placate both the victims of homelessness and landowners who are trying to maximize profits?

I wish a major city would adopt what I call the "Co-op City Plan". New Yorkers know what I am talking about.
In this envisioning I have, the city could buy up properties, and rent them out at cheap prices to entice people, and could also employ them, allowing them to be able to afford the house/apartment.
The problem is that people only listen to money.
And the system is rigged so that the people with the money (and hence, the power) are the richest and the whitest. And they set up the system so that upward mobility into a financial level of power and influence is incredibly difficult. So few people ever get into that "club" in order to use their money to change policy.

That's part of it.

The other part of it is that because those with wealth and power have such influence, they can buy up and control most of the media...which controls what information people get...and also manipulates the narrative for a lot of important issues. This is how people tend to vote against their interests -- think the Tea Party.

And yet another part is that...some people who are wealthy and wield certain levels of influence are apathetic. Either because they lack the courage to step out...or because they are afraid to risk biting the hand that feeds them. You see this in a lot of athletes and actors and other entertainers. The coli refers to them as c00ns (Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Will Smith...etc.)
