Pretty typical of these bible thumpers.

When topics of homosexuality, abortion, etc come up, the answer is always

"The bible says its wrong and that's that, there's nothing we can do :yeshrug: "

But when people bring up the women on their period, working on Sunday, wearing clothes of two different types of fabric, selling children into prostitution, etc, the answer is always

"the bible wasn't meant to be taken that literally :dwillhuh: "

Jesus always preached that the relationship God was a personal one, maybe someday his followers will realize that message and stay the fukk out of other people's business.

First Off I am not a Western style christian.....I belong to the Ethiopian Orthodox Christian tradition.

Now let me say what was told to me by Rasta elders. This info I can not corroborate with scientific facts.
Menstrual flow is an Illness, women are not suppose to have a flow it is believe that in ancient times this was not normal or natural.
Women should have a spotting - Period.

If one reads Leviticus 15 which deals with the issue you will see where it also talks about a man having an unusual discharge. So This biblical chapter was a public health message.
it was a health requirement - sanitation if you will in a time and place of scarcity of clean water and proper antiseptic methods..

People will misrepresent whatever the fukk they want to misrepresent. The kind of shyt people like this teach would have been incomprehensible to the first couple centuries of Christianity and are in explicit contradiction to what Jesus taught.

Jesus made clear that the Old Testament was fulfilled in him. He said over and over, "You have heard it said...but I say to you", making clear that it was a new era and that the world was not required to follow the law meant explicitly for the Hebrews in that time. In Acts 15 the early church clearly affirms that Christians do not have the follow the Hebrew law to be right with God. It's not "cherry picking", the entire foundation of Christianity is built on the Old Testament NOT being the rules that we follow.

That doesn't make the Old Testament useless. It shows us how we got here. But it's not a law to be followed.

I see Christians eating Cheeseburgers all the time...Don't they know God hates cheeseburgers and doesn't want us to eat them...?

People ignore all types of shyt from the New Testament. And they still push some stuff from the OLD.

Y'all can't have it both ways:smh:

I ain't trying to have it both ways.

I don't think shyt from the New Testament should be ignored, and I don't think that shyt from the Old Testament should be pushed if the New Testament has clearly superseded it. I don't think any "Old Testament law" should be followed as law at all.

People from all walks of life say dumb shyt about everything. Yes, a lot of the 2,000,000,000 Christians on this planet don't know what they're doing. That doesn't invalidate the ones who are trying to do it right.

Well y'all "right" ones need to find a way to make the dummies shut up.
Cause usually the ones speaking up and speaking out are doing it all wrong.

If you think the bible is a fairy tale, why do you care if some of those who follow its word choose to do so selectively? If someone worshiped the words of Aesops Fables I wouldn't care how accurate they were:francis:
Is this a serious question? Because those people try to affect other people's lives off of their faith of these fairy tales.
