Lemongrass, cherries, alkaline water
Speak more on these fools, I heard of them but not too familiar with the culture if you will

I don't want to derail this thread, so I'm just going to leave a link to a story about the kind of benefits Cubans have been reaping for years.

Florida politicians have fiercely fought to protect the special status given to Cuban immigrants, transforming U.S. government assistance from handouts of powdered milk and cheese to a multibillion dollar entitlement.

Aid to Cuban immigrants — who are granted immediate access to welfare, food stamps and Medicaid — has ballooned from a $1 million federal allocation in 1960 to at least $680 million a year today.

How did Cubans become the only nationality with unfettered access to U.S. government benefits? A combination of compassion, panic and politics.

They look down on blacks because they're the white elite. That's how it is with every country. Cuba is a country more in touch with their black roots.
We're that the case white Cubans in south Florida wouldn't look down upon their darker compatriots the way that they do.

I don't believe Cuba is any more in touch with black roots than other Caribbean islands.

:sas2: They don't be denying their black roots as much. I think they're pretty even with Puerto Ricans. This is just my experience though. I'm not speaking in absolutes, but when it comes to Afrocubanismo and Afro "boriken", there's less resistance to blackness. I think it might have to do with the harshness of the regimes as well.
