I've been to Europe:

The football (soccer) matches are fukking brutal and yes, if there is any Black people on a team, even if it's an Euro team, they will get taunted with racists assaults and insults.

Football (soccer) aside, the bulk of Western Europe is pretty chill. Even with the drama Western Europe has been having with African immigrants, things are pretty much safe for the Black traveler there.

However, shyt gets a little sticky when it comes to Central and Eastern Europe. Now, I haven't known of any Black person who has gone into those areas of being physically assaulted however, there has been verbal assaults and ridiculous stares.

Play up your American, Canadian, or British citizenship up to the fullest: racist kooks usually back off.

I've been to Switzerland, Romania, Germany, Poland, and Greece. IMHO, the only difference is that Europeans don't conceal as much. Sarcasm and slick talk is an American thing. To answer your question OP, I personally think that both America and Europe are on the same level.

However, I think Europe has come out of the bag more since they have been having issues with immigration from Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. So, now, you have a lot of Euros on this whole anti-Black/Brown fiasco.

Like I said in an earlier post, really play up your American, Canadian, or British nationality; especially being American: it still has some clout.
