Uhhh it depends. I went to Rome a few years ago and didn't notice much racism but we drove down to some coastal beach town and it was  no black people and people kept staring at us. We went to a pizzeria to watch the world cup and they sat us in a remote corner lol. I've also been to Athens and I got mad love there so idk if they're racist, I also went to smaller islands like Mykonos, Crete, and Santorini and got love there too so idk. Some of my friends studied abroad in Hungary and Croatia and said that it was racist, not so sure about Russia though, I have a few Russia friends and they're cool as hell

Greek women love black men breh...my homie who i grew up with, and is greek, had female cousins straight from there...whenever they would visit they would sweat me and my brother like it was no thing

Europe is a continent... America is a country...

A novel concept :merchant:
Americans have that US vs the world mentality so it's only natural for them to see it that way.

I went to France and the United Kingdom this summer. Not so mush in the UK but I swear damn near every white woman i saw in paris was with a black man. It's like if you're black in Paris you're pretty much some white woman's dream trophy man

Aye my brehs, whatever you do, stay the fukk out of Russia. My dad's closest business partner went to Russia where he and his wife were treated like shyt. They were shouted out of restaurants and people threw shyt at them. These are people whose combined income comes out to over 370k a year.

People always think that Europeans are more likely to be enlightened, just like your professors in college that understood sociology and economics better than the average bear, because they've embraced a few more progressive ideas than the United States, but trust me, people are people are people EVERYWHERE. This means that they have all the flaws of Americans, despite what may have been told to you by others.

And what part of Russia was this? I was in Moscow, St. petersburg, Volgograd and all over the volga river in small towns and I got nothing but love with some curiosity thrown in there. And I'm as dark and tall as Chad Johnson or TO. In every restaurant, museum, flea market, clothing store that I can remember I got complete respect. People obviously knew I wasn't Russian, but I can't remember any ignorant shyt happening. People were generally very nice and helpful.

I know there's a few youtube videos out there that say otherwise, but it seems like black folks have some deepseeded phobia about the'Iron' Curtain.' My advice would for some to check it out themselves and see it first hand. I definitely had a ball there.

the stories u've heard about russia should be good enough reason not to go there.

unless ur going with like 15 different people, i wouldn't recommend anyone visit those retarded countries as a couple.

Russia is a big ass country

I was never touched, felt threatened once.

Im not saying to go pack your bags and go there by yourself or anything though

Europe is racist as fukk from what I understand (never been fortunately) and also rabidly anti-Semitic

So watchu talking about?

Been to france and london for work related conventions within the last 4 years and the women loved us just because we were american. Most people when we went out during the day just wanted to know about new york and chicago for some reason. And seemed disappointed when I told them I was from alabama. I got a lot of questions about whether birmingham was similar to their birmingham. Overall people seemed to go out of their way to be nice to me kinda like they knew they had a reputation and wanted to compensate.

To be honest, those people probably just saw you as an American, and if they were interested in knowing about the States it's probably to see if the idea they have about it is really the truth. Remember, us Europeans have been getting a steady diet of Bush/Palin/Romney, read crazy stories about anti-abortion extremists, Creationists, NRA and shyt, so some may want to know how fukkups like those are even possible. If you're colored, they're more likely to ask YOU about it, because those things are (rightly or not) generally associated with white americans. It's like it's actually "safer" to ask you than a white american.

To answer, first of all it's stupid to compare a continent to a country, but I the impression that some people really believe Europe is a country :what:

So obviously you have VERY different realities, due to some countries being closer to Africa/the Arab world, some countries having a colonial history, some countries having better economies than others. I think you will encounter some "light" racism in looking for a job/appartment, in certain bars or whatever, but the guys who are full-out racist (not many) are out there in the open. But to be honest, I've been in Europe (France, Belgium, Italy, travelled to Spain, Poland, Estonia, Croatia, Netherlands, UK) for 16 years and only have like four-five clear racists events, and that shyt wasn't even threatening, just annoying.

I think a BIG difference between Europe and the US is that even through slavery, the Black Man has been part of the scenery for centuries in the US. GRanted, through slavery and discrimination, but Black people were always there. On the contrary, there were like NO black people in some European countries until like 30 years for some, even less for others. So even though there is racism in the US, i don't know, I get the feeling that it's different than here where the fact of being black is still very much a novelty. Not sure if my point is clear tho.
