I'd rather own period. if you like having a landlord who can come up in your spot at will, tell u to turn down ur music, and you have to ask permission to make any minor change, so be it.
I feel you, breh. Nothing wrong with owning a house...but if you still pay a mortgage, then you don't own it. And we both know that. It's not yours until you have the title in your hand and you no longer owe the bank.
But none of the examples you gave are outside the realm of being a homeowner either. Including someone complaining about you playing your music too loud or needing permission to make minor and/or large changes to your house i.e. the example I gave above.
People just need to stop with the whole "I live at home because I'd rather stack to buy a house than rent." Well, unless they're walking out with a couple hundred stacks, then they're going to be renting until that mortgage and interest is paid off. And that won't be for another 30 years.
Rent - pay rent to landlord
Mortgage - pay rent to bank...whose the landlord until the mortgage is paid off...30 years from now
