I been fukkin wit Smack/URL since the beginning and this is something a lot of the battle fans don't understand or can't comprehend. These battle nikkas these days ain't even technically rappin. It's more performance based and u can control the pace of ya bars since there ain't no beat. Just write a million bars and spit em at ur opponent without ever having to worry about stayin in the pocket or on key.

Don't get me wrong i'm not a hater, I see the value in the performance art format but it makes for less display of skill when you don't have to keep any kind of rhythm and then on top of it have MONTHS in advance to rehearse what would be like a song full of bars acapella....

The only advantage I see with it is that it makes the battles more marketable. It will probably be easier for casual fans to get into so that the battle rap circuit can actually be a viable alternative to your standard foray into the rap game in the way that it is now...of course the money/marketability will eventually fukk it up but these cats deserve their shine and deserve to get paid more than these puppets outchea.
