If there is any doubt why Mos isn't one of the best all around go to guy in Hip Hop, watch this from Reverb TV (I dont think I had this channel & likely you didn't either) when he performed with his recently formed (at this time of filming) super group band in 2001 at Bowery Ballroom with Musical Legends from different ERAS. All Hall of Fame (or soon to be) 
You are lucky mf if you got to see this live.... They clearly were a threat to rap metal bands of the day because you never did see any mention of this except blurbs in Rolling Stone with a quick take or "buzzing" section. Who else but Mos Def would get members of Living Colour,P-Funk & Bad Brains together?
