before i even look at the brian sutterer video im guessing hes going to say the position of the rest of his body and the angle of his left leg when he planted his left foot put a ton of force on his knee. in real time it doesnt look awkward at all but if you pause it when he plants it would seem like the angle put too much force or strain to his knee sideways and it gave way.
There's a profile on IG that does a great job of medically breaking down injuries with illustrations. Dope follow

When I dislocated my patella, it was just a basic foot plant when I was about 11 or 12 years old. Doc blamed my crazy growth spurt I was experiencing but it was really just a freak accident. Probably the most pain I ever felt in my life. Prayers up for him.

Shaun Livingston had the worst knee injury I think I've ever seen & at one point, they thought they were going to have to take the leg from the knee down. I thought he'd never play again. Moses will be back too but his game will probably be changed forever. Getting over the mental aspect will be the biggest hurdle. The noncontact injuries are the worst.

i've seen all types of gruesome stuff but that is ugly. and whenever i hear non-contact injury, especially in bball, it's not good.
