Just revisiting something I've already said before ....usually folks here are complaining about poverty/wealth but all this so call "High value" this & that is floating around recently.

Labeling a retiree drawing on (social security / Medicaid) as "public Assistance" seems odd even though I technically "get it".

Most African Americans are regular middle of the road folks doing stuff like...
  • cable man
  • power/phone line maintenance
  • H.R.
  • Helpdesk
  • nursing
  • construction
  • auto repair
  • security
  • post office(other random government jobs)
  • I.T.
  • Medical / Legal work
  • Politics
  • church staff
  • education
  • Retail
  • etc etc etc...

I.E. most African Americans are not impoverished minimum wage workers lost in americana with a hand full of so called "high value" individuals in the mix. Most are regular folks who live around other African Americans and they live in low cost of living areas where food & housing are relatively cheap.

This country is largely design so black people can fail so why is this news?

I just get tired of these New black's that try to act is if race and class aren't as big of issues now and successes more readily obtainable than in years past. Now while that's true they also ignore the systems effects on other black people and take this mantra towards them that they need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps rather than reform this system that has been manipulated to put black Americans is a permanent underclass.

Adding to your point, in order to reform/replace that system we have to have a accurate description of the state of affairs and what forces are at play.

My problem is the extent to which folks fail at accurately describing things, which leads to folks potentially focusing on the wrong things to fix ...or their focusing on [one of] the many right things that need attention, but putting disproportionate energy into it relevant to it's importance.

All this "high value" nonsense is just a symptom of capitalism. Its just a shame that instead of being focused on replacing this system with a system of justice, we categorize ourselves with these silly terms such "high value", "alpha" etc. Its all just slave mentality on a modern scale.

It's not like the racial wealth gap in America is closing anytime soon even.

We even have studies done by accredited professionals that state that poor white people have a better chance of moving upward in class then middle to upper class black people. In fact middle to upper class black people actually have a greater chance of falling in mobility than moving upward in in this country.

It's this "I got mine but you if you don't have anything...fukk you do better in life" mentality that's fukking us over. Especially considering this country was designed for us to fail to begin with.

This I'd the problem I have with most black bourgeois they act like the system isnt racist because they "made it." Where it doesn't matter if they made it or that there are poor whites its designed so proportionally speaking it effects black people worse.

Facts, I especially cringe when I hear this from black folks mainly because we are the most socioeconomically depressed group in this country as it is.

But we're quick to talk down on each other when we've attained some success, I'll never denigrate another black person about their job or income. That shyt is corny and lame af, we all tryna make it in a system that's against us

The thing is it’s no such thing as we anymore.
