Ready to Die

The "standout" cuts on Ready to Die ("The What", "Warning", "Unbelievable") were on the same level as "forgotten" tracks on other classic albums (think of "One Time 4 Your Mind" from Illmatic and "7th Chamber" from Enter The Wu-Tang)


A lot of songs just weren't anything special ("Friend of Mine", "Me & My B----", etc.)

man its hard not to argue wit some of these posts. Ready to die? Blueprint? fukk it tho, i cant even think of anything all these classic albums are classic for a reason, damn maybe the first mmlp but im not gonna commit to that choice, shyt i can tell you some underrated albums but overrated,

Life After Death & All Eyez On Me are both equally overrated. Mad bloated and shallow. Both are better than IWW though.

Blueprint, Illmatic, and Reasonable Doubt....easily, but it looks like most of yall agree with me.

Edit: Blueprint is #1 tho....to me its outright boring trash, whereas the other 2 are good albums.

As for the thread topic, I would have to say that the most overrated classic IMO is 'The Blueprint'

EDIT: fukk, how could I forget Eminem, any of his albums that are considered classics are easily the most overrated classics, IMO.

Reasonable Doubt is underrated if anything. People still question it's merit on some line drawn in the stan sand shyt. It's a beautifully produced, sample based album with some of the most authentic and well crafted hustler lyrics ever.

IMO Hov was the best rapper from like 1997 to 1999. Once Dynasty came out i began losing interest in his direction.

krs was still the best rapper in 97.
mos was the best rapper in 98.
jay was the best rapper in 99, easy.
