curry is on the verge.

seems like a nice guy, his parents attend his games, his brother went to duke, and of course he doesn't look the "typical" NBA player.:mjpls:

White america hates rich young black males

so I'm assuming it has to be a white player

LeBron is the most popular player and it isnt close. But he has kinda like the New York Yankees paradox where hes the most loved and the most hated. The most popular player that receives the least hate? Probably still Kevin Durant though that tide is turning a bit

:heh: @ people mentioning lebron. nobody outside of miami and internet dikkriders likes him. i had old ass people at work who dont even watch basketball rooting for the spurs just because they hate that mothafukka.

i cant find the spurs-heat espn poll, im sure someone can get it and post it. but this was the poll for thunder vs heat asking "who are u rooting for"

^speaks for itself. and this years was similar. lebron is popular no doubt, but u even find espn anchors throwing shots at him for no reason. some dude was saying lebrons headband is an 'artificial hairline' that gives him confidence but it didnt matter in that 4th q of game 6 :dead:

Right now it's Steph Curry.

As many of us called last season the shytstorm is already forming around Durant. People were ready to go in on him BEFORE they got knocked out of the playoffs. The fact that he got ANY criticism is fukking sad when you think about it.

In a sense, he's lucky to have the excuse of Westbrook being out. If their team was healthy and they still failed, he would be getting the melo treatment, or the pre-2012 lebron treatment.

Why are LeBron's shoe sales doubling and tripling the sales of all of his peers?

LeBron James Is The NBA's Leading Shoe Salesman - Forbes

LeBron James is in the hunt for a second straight NBA championship after leading the Miami Heat to an NBA-best 66 wins during the regular season. It has been a wildly successful 12-month run for King James, as he established himself as the NBA’s biggest star since Michael Jordan. James led the Heat on a 27-game winning streak. He added another NBA MVP trophy (for a total of four), an Olympic gold medal and his first title over the past year. The game’s most dominant player is also crushing the competition in stores, outselling his nearest rival’s signature sneakers 6-to-1.

Nike generated $300 million in U.S. retail sales in 2012 for James’ signature shoes, according to research firm SportsOneSource. Nike’s haul represents a 50% increase from sales of James’ kicks in 2011. “The first thing is the aesthetics. The shoes look great and his star stature continues to rise,” says SportsOneSource analyst Matt Powell. “The media attention on him helps him sell more footwear.”

U.S. Retail Basketball Shoe Sales

LeBron James (Nike): $300 million

Kobe Bryant (Nike): $50 million

Carmelo Anthony (Jordan): $40 million

Kevin Durant (Nike): $35 million

Derrick Rose (Adidas): $25 million

John Wall (Reebok): $5 million

Dwight Howard (Adidas): $5 million

i own a pair of royal lebron ix, and a pair of lebron x's.
i'm going to try to get a pair of those brown suede X's too.

i also bought some ix for my nephew for school.

i hate lebron.

purchasing a player's shoes =/= loving a basketball player and thus, high shoe sales are not a sign that a player is "beloved" which is the question this thread is asking.

you're welcome.
