It's all about tolerance. There was a time I was smoking HEAVY, and like I've heard numerous people say before I had to be smoking to be high. Could light up 4 joints back to back to back to back while carrying a conversation or listening to an album. Cut it down after some discipline. But anyone who's been smoking for 15+ years like them will a=have that tolerance.

I've started smoking and doing homework sometimes, or just to get my hustle on. Really it helps me think naturally without having to worry about some of the BS that I would if I were sober.
I suppose it really just depends on who you are.

It's not weed that held back all those 90s stoner rappers. It is themselves. Jay-z talked about smoking weed recently, didn't stop him. Nas? the guy who once spent an entire advance on weed has handled himself fine.

Jay-z smoking marijuana his entire life is exactly the same as a weed rapper because well, just because you SAY something all the time on wax, doesn't make it true. Ask 'I am richer than everyone' 50 cent.
When did he do it on BP, BP3, Vol.2, WTT and Vol.3? And referencing weed, like Jay saying "this is the type of shyt you roll to, like a tight J to to sip your little wine" and saying that you're high all the time are completely different things

@ Jay-z and Wiz Khalifa being the same type of rapper. Nas and teenage Mac Miller, same rapper. He also at least 1 conscious bar on every album, does that make him a "conscious rapper" . 1 club banger, a club anthem rapper and the list goes on.
