The winner here is the mom and daughter. I'm guessing they probably used the mom's credit to rent out the house...now that she has defaulted for 24 months they'll use the daughters credit for the next house and once moms credit is clean they will repeat the cycle again.

Some of you have no idea what some people will do for free rent. 2 years of not paying rent is a win no matter how you look at it.

No bruh this is not a win. Even if they were stacking money and not paying, they cant even use that money to get a house bc no credible lender is going to overlook that. Most big banks, you can't even have 1 late rent payment the past 12 months.

Use thr daughter's name then, no bc chances are she has no good credit to qualify.

So go rent somewhere else? Okay I guess. But bad credit doesn't just drop off in 2 years. People have to still provide explanation for a late credit card payment from 5 years ago

These stories always baffle me. I've lived in places where if you don't pay your rent by the 5th day of the month they are charging you extra and if you don't pay within a few days of that they are busting in and kicking you out. How you manage to just keep on living there for a whole 2 fukkin years and nothing was done. That is crazy.

I read an article once about "reverse squatting" :whoo:

Basically landlords can hire a big, obnoxious dude to move into the house to live alongside the squatters. Gets them uncomfortable and the squatters end up dipping in a few days / weeks at most
