According to some Chicago fonts and commenters, the church (along with some other organizations) is paying and was always going to pay for the funeral. She started that gofundme for herself. She is/was wrong.

So if the funeral costs were already paid for by organizations etc...

Then what was the purpose of setting up a gofundme account for funeral expenses that were already paid for?

What were their plans to do with over $17k they raised?

I didn't see the news video of the mother, only the father. Someone said the mom seemed fake while she was crying. & mentioned that her son wanted to buy her a house or something.

pops was banging in the streets, though. if true, i don't think he should see that money.

the murder was supposedly due to his pops gang-ties, if we're taking media/police accounts for face-value.

just seems like a really stupid use of the money, but technically it can be used at her discretion. she doesn't have a child anymore-- what else is she going to use that money toward? a youth center?
