Movie theaters are in trouble.

I know it’s been discussed before but today I looked at fandango local amc theaters. I don’t recognize one movie. All these movies are awful

Streaming makes it worse. I wairfted2 3 weeks to watch captain america order. Not a long time to wait

Movies are getting released on VOD just 2 weeks after being in theater. There's a lot of popcorn movies that I'd watch pre-COVID that I'm just gonna wait for now.

Tickets are expensive, concessions are overpriced, trailers take 25+ min to roll, and the economy is in a blunder as is. The genie’s out of the bottle now with VOD and I don’t see the studios making any adjustments to the theatrical windows.

Longer windows would more than likely just shift those folks to wait it out even longer for streaming.

All these movies are bombs, and all these movies combined will make less than Captain America: Brave New World with its 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, and that movie is still a flop.

Audiences have absolutely no interest in new, quality original films. The would rather suffer through a mediocre superhero flick than even an original horror or action movie.

I saw almost all these movies (including Captain America) in theaters and almost every time my theater was dead.

If Sinners doesn’t completely blow the doors off I wouldn’t blame the studios for never green lighting an original film again.

Folks will show up for films if they feel like an event though. Barbie, Oppenheimer, and Dune were that. Mickey 17, Companion, and Black Bag, as much as I do like them, are not that.

Studios have no reason to care about the window because they only get less of a cut the longer the movie runs. Thats why everything is about opening weekend and stuff is streaming so fast.

Exactly. Releases always pick up in April to get the public prepared for big summer drops.

Minecraft, Sinners, a few others are dropping in April I believe
