It was the first modern mainstream movie that showed America that the Israelites, the sons and daughters of The Most High, were truly Black, including The Savior. That alone should have been enough to hold any Black person's interest, especially the Blacks here in America.

That's cool. I'm actually glad it exists. I just wish it was actually funny being that it's supposed to be satire. Gets a little melodramatic in the end.

Pandemic and the streaming apps made it easy to sit out majority of the movies. I used to go multiple times a year, now I’m averaging one annual visit the past four years.

This year overall has sucked for movies. I'm someone that watches at least 1 movie every weekend and have had to skip multiple weekends cause there just wasn't anything good.

Novocaine was alright, the monkey was trash

There was a survey done that said audiences actually wanted more "Comedies, Thrillers and Action films". But the more they flop the more Hollywood will continues with Sequels, Reboots and Remakes. Again I do believe Theaters will survive because the big movies will keep the lights on. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas both said theaters would be in trouble because of streaming over a decade ago too. But they could also end up like Arcades after home video gaming took over. When I was a kid in the 80's, Arcades were everywhere. Not so much anywhere anymore. It's just sad that mid-tier level films that made their bread and butter on the big screen then on home video will basically just be straight to video movies due to Streaming.

Hollywood has been in trouble for years now especially since the Pandemic and later the Strike that went down and there is no turning back. Streaming will never end and is only getting bigger. If we had the same selections that they have now for movies and tv shows in the 80's and 90's it would have been a serious entertainment overload. It's nuts what Kids, Teens and even Adults have as far as options to watch something. Throw in the fact smartphones now give you the same access to all of it that your home computer does. It's an uphill battle to get someone to drop 20-30 (with concessions) for a movie when they have infinite options at home with a click of a button. They've made it so easy to skip the theater and just watch it at home. Also as people mentioned, Home Theater systems are WAYYY cheaper now than ever before. You can get an entire set up for under a 1,000 which was the cost of regular Big Screen TV's back in the day.

Just got an AMC Theater email advertising The Chosen (The Last Supper), season five, with a part 1, 2 , and 3...with a White cast. They really are getting desperate. Didn't even know there was a season one. I just officially unsubscribed from the AMC Theater email list. Won't be missing nothing.

I messed around, and saw Novocaine last night. Although there was a scene or two that let me know it had to be a movie, the film was ok, and better than what I was expecting. So I didn't leave disappointed. But I went on an empty stomach, and had my normal large popcorn and large drink, so I could feel more full. That didn't sit too well with my stomach after awhile. I should have got those movie nachos and a large drink, the new combo I said I was gonna switch over too. I think it would have been better on an empty stomach, than all that salty popcorn. But my stomach started feeling better way before the movie ended. In fact, I was able to get a large drink refill on the way out, like I usually do. Although the theater was near empty, and I mean the theater this time, and not just the auditorium, I didn't realize how much I missed my old routine. Will I rejoin my A-List membership? I don't know about all that :patrice:

By the way, Betty Gabriel was in this movie. She played Georgiana in "Get Out". I see she's staying pretty active in films. Btw, she's like me, born in DC, and raised in PG. She sorta have a face like a home girl.

As a single person a ticket for Sinners was $6.80, and this was with 25% off

Then a regular sized drink and popcorn for $16.43 (I want my theater to stay open)

This is before tax.

Standard family of 4, that would be

tickets = $27.20

Assume you get two drinks to share, and two popcorns to share

$32.86

$60 to go to the movies. :demonic:

(Well, the mom can sneak all that in, and they can get one Large popcorn to support the theater)
