I consider myself lucky here in Brussels with this membership thing where I pay 20 euros per month and can go as often as I want. It's a group of independent theaters I have access to, I get to see arthouse/indie movies plus most big productions too. I've had something like that for the past 20 years, totally changed my approach and opened me up to tons of movies I wouldn't have seen otherwise. They all regularly host all kinds of festivals, also show older movies so you can see them on big screen, classic movies I haven't seen, etc. I go about 2 or 3 times a week, no way I would go that often if had to pay full price each time.

This Month
Black Bag - 97% on Rotten Tomatoes,
Last Breath - 79% on Rotten Tomatoes,
Mickey 17 - 78% on Rotten Tomatoes,
Novocaine - 82 % on Rotten Tomatoes,

Last Month
Companion - 94% on Rotten Tomatoes,
Heart Eyes - 81% on Rotten Tomatoes,
Presence - 88% on Rotten Tomatoes

All these movies are bombs, and all these movies combined will make less than Captain America: Brave New World with its 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, and that movie is still a flop.

Audiences have absolutely no interest in new, quality original films. The would rather suffer through a mediocre superhero flick than even an original horror or action movie.

I saw almost all these movies (including Captain America) in theaters and almost every time my theater was dead.

If Sinners doesn’t completely blow the doors off I wouldn’t blame the studios for never green lighting an original film again.

There's another element.

Original shows on streaming apps (Max, Netflix etc).

I find myself preferring to watch a good show that might be anywhere from 4 to 10 episodes as a "limited series" all the way to shows with 5+ seasons and 10 episodes per. I still enjoy a good movie, but there's something about watching shyt like Shogun, Last Kingdom, Top Boy, Supacell etc....

When I want the home theater experience, I just put on my Sennheiser Headphones, although a little expensive. But they did come down in price. Anyway, it's still a good setup for a single cat. I can hear everything. I sometimes wear them when I watch tv period. I bought them a while back, because the big screen I had back then didn't have bluetooth. The only problem is, I haven't seen a movie that held my attention since "The Book of Clarence" :unimpressed:. So no real need in getting that Nostalgia Popcorn Maker Machine I always wanted. Probably wasn't healthy no way.

That movie was mid. :gucci:

The last movie I remember seeing in theaters was Oppenheimer but I’m not sure if it was the last. I’ve been to the movies since I’ve moved to Georgia. I like going to the movies but I have to have an experience.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I may mess around and catch the Tuesday Discount tomorrow, and see "Novocaine" for the heck of it. I saw the movie trailer today online, and didn't know it was the same movie trailer I saw in the theater a while back. I just forgot the title of the movie. It looked a little interesting back then, but not quite interesting enough to go see, especially since I saw no Blacks. But I may get a laugh or two from it. Plus it would give me a chance to again, try the movie nacho's and large drink combo, which might become my new go-to combo...a change from that overly salted large popcorn.
