Ya'll Cali nikkas must of never seen no real hoods then, where I'm from Newark,NJ on the East Coast that shyt really is a hood, abandoned and decaying buildings, Brick project buildings with litter on the streets and houses with busted and broken windows shyt looks like a real life horror movie Even our women look


Add in the winter and snow with all of this and shyt gets real grimey and it just makes nikkas angry

my aunt been in the same house in the hood since I wanna say late 80's. i'm 26 and she been there my whole life. only time her shyt ever been broke into her crackhead ass brother was the nikka did it. she now retired from the post office and helping raise another generation of kids in that same very house.

Growing up I watch all these movies, shows and shyt about a family 'moving on up' and working to get out of the hood and what not, but just recently i been thinking that this is all bullshyt fam real nikka.
Like what exactly is the hood? Why is it so bad that you have to spend ur whole life tryna get out of it and keep your kids away?

Notice how they say the only way to get out of the hood is to get an education and get your money right and you can LEAVE the hood and go live with them white people. But why not stay in the hood and help out? Why not invest your dollars into the community and make it better? Yall doing exactly what they want yall to do, getting that education and spending all your money in THEY neighborhood making their neighborhoods better and bringing more business there, while that could have been used on businesses in the hood to turn it around. The hood is not a place but its just a state of mind. People make a certain place "hood". So thats why they try to get all the good people with education and legal money to leave the hood, so it can stay poor and violent and dangerous. If people with degrees, their own businesses and shyt stay in the hood then it wont be a hood no more instead it wil slowly turn into a thriving black community, which will be most likely located in prime real estate areas in the city.

I've been to some grimey hoods. It's not the golden mecca you people say it is. One thing that doesn't make sense is the hood people say "the hood isn't like Menace to Society you gotta be here to understand" and then the next week they say "if you ain't from the hood you ain't hard like me. shyt is real out here."

Wrong. All blacks have to do is create their own affluent suburbs. I think this thread has been done before though. But we don't see affluent whites saying they should go live in the trailer parks. The most effective thing blacks could do when they leave the hood is BUILD their own community that would be just as affluent, progressive and economically sound as white people's. It comes down to building networks. Sorry but in the hoods blacks don't own shyt. The Koreans own the hair stores. The Chinese own the chicken shops. The Arabs run the gas stations and supermarkets. It's not exactly like black people in the hood are building their own businesses and networks.

Those koreans, arabs, chinese and all other foreigners get grants and tax breaks to open up businesses in OUR neighborhoods...and what they do is invite their people over, take over ownership of the business and switch up every 7 yrs so they wont have to pay ANY TAXES (which is why the shyt they sell is much cheaper than american owned businesses)

For an African American to open up a business in a black neighborhood, they will be forced to charge sky high prices and high taxes just to maintain their business.


But guess what? People love a bargain! Why pay $5 for a gallon of milk when u can pay 3 at the corna sto around da corna owned by them arabs? Same goes for all the other businesses owned by the arabs, koreans, and chinese.


I learned this from my auntie (who owns a struggling beauty supply store on the west side of chicago) and my cousin whom worked for a corner store during his teen years.

There are many AA business owners but a lot of times, they're forced to go out of business because these foreigners ARE putting them out of business.
