And to add onto that story that bebe kid is in goddamn prison :stopitslime:

Two months living there his older brother came home, not from school though, not from the military, from goddamn prison. Tried to spit some knowledge to dude, gave him rides to job interviews since he lost his license etc. He resorted back to what he knew and that was robbing. I'm sure he's in prison right now.

this ain't highlight whats important to ME bytch dont put it in there if it wasnt relevant

I get your point but it's irrelevant to mine. I agree. Whites don't go into black neighborhoods.... wait yes they do actually. Gentrification.

Let's forget about gentrification for the sake of your argument. You're saying whites don't go to black neighborhoods so blacks shouldn't move to white neighborhoods. For the most part I DO agree.

My position isn't "blacks should move to affluent white areas." it also isn't "blacks should stay in the hood no matter how wealthy they are." My position is simple and NO ONE has stated any reason for why it wouldn't work. My position is that affluent blacks should build affluent black neighborhoods together. Black communities that are patriarchal, and have the ability to exist without being HYPER-DEPENDENT on white people to survive. Not only in welfare either. I'm talking about black businesses/companies hiring black people within that community. Black people depending on other black people. Quiet as it's kept no matter how educated a black person in America is, at the end of the day he STILL has to ask a white man for a job.

Black flight... to AFFLUENT black neighborhoods.

What are you basing this on? :childplease::childplease:

THE SUBURBS LINES ARE BLURRING ALL OVER THE US. YOU GOT AREAS WHERE PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW THEY ARE IN THE HOOD. THEN YOU GOT SUBURBS THAT DON'T LOOK BETTER THAN URBAN NEIGHBORHOODS.

I KNOW PEOPLE DON'T LIKE TO HEAR THIS BUT I'LL SAY IT ANYWAY. A LOT OF WHITE PEOPLE AREN'T SCARED OF BLACK PEOPLE MOVING INTO THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. THEY ARE AFRAID OF THE MENTALITY THAT COMES WITH US.

:pachaha::pachaha::comeon::comeon: Why is it even necessary to bring white folks into it? Again most Black people who leave the hood do not go to white neighborhoods they go to middle class neighborhoods that are Black. I speak from experience, I was born and raised in the South Bronx and moved to the North where most of my neighbors were middle class Black and Latino folks many of whom came from the South Bronx. I currently live in Maryland where again I live in a neighborhood that is full of middle class Black people.

I wouldn't advise anyone to move back to the hood regardless of color. You can help out your old community in a variety of ways, that does not mean you have to maintain the same address. It has nothing to do with being uppity, being condescending, or anything of else of that manner. Black people like everyone else have a long list of priorities and take into consideration a large number of factors when it comes to where they live, so it shouldn't be shocking if they were more than skeptical about the idea that if they stuck around the hood things would gradually get better.

Listen here tho, before you dumb ass boojie nikkas disagree with what im saying.

Growing up I watch all these movies, shows and shyt about a family 'moving on up' and working to get out of the hood and what not, but just recently i been thinking that this is all bullshyt fam real nikka.
Like what exactly is the hood? Why is it so bad that you have to spend ur whole life tryna get out of it and keep your kids away?

Notice how they say the only way to get out of the hood is to get an education and get your money right and you can LEAVE the hood and go live with them white people. But why not stay in the hood and help out? Why not invest your dollars into the community and make it better? Yall doing exactly what they want yall to do, getting that education and spending all your money in THEY neighborhood making their neighborhoods better and bringing more business there, while that could have been used on businesses in the hood to turn it around. The hood is not a place but its just a state of mind. People make a certain place "hood". So thats why they try to get all the good people with education and legal money to leave the hood, so it can stay poor and violent and dangerous. If people with degrees, their own businesses and shyt stay in the hood then it wont be a hood no more instead it wil slowly turn into a thriving black community, which will be most likely located in prime real estate areas in the city.

but people cant see this

I salute the idea that the talented stay and reinvest economically and socially in the hood, rather than jumping on the first thing smokin' to some snotty a$$ suburb.

Right. But if you live in public housing why not aspire to move out? If you live in a bad neighborhood why not aspire to leave? There's nothing stopping you from coming back once you've established yourself.

Each one teach one is a great theory. The odds are against you though.

I dont think hes suggesting to stay in the projects or anything like that, but hes questioning moving to a lil white suburb and cutting all ties to the old block.

Its like with a NCAA team. You got 5 NBA ready players, and for that 1 year they all on the same team they thriving, they unstoppable cant no one fukk with them. But then when its time to go, they bounce and then what happens? Same team name, same uniform, same stadium, but the team is trash now because all the good players left.

This is actually a really good analogy. :obama:

Gentrification is very real, problem is it can all be avoided if people took pride in their properties and where they lived. If I own 2 homes on the block keep em up and the lady across the street tries to keep up and her neighbor and so on, the whole block looks nice. The problem is we have too many young people with no vision and ambition. They get a decent crib, and fukk it all up be cause its not about a come up to them its about "this cool fa sho"

I hope i do get a good job in the city and i'll stay in the city. I want my money going to where i LIVE not to the burbs. as soon as that Whole Foods open in Downtown Detroit i'll be making that long drive, not because im a pompus hipster, but because i want their investors to see that this CITY is a lucrative place to have stores. And with that comes opportunities.

stop moving to them white neighborhoods and puttin ya kids in them white schools knowing you cant afford that shyt.

Ima keep standing by my theory. Where im from, the hoods of long beach it aint really no "hood" at all. Its just a bunch of young ignorant ratchet ass people. But if you go to my neighborhood you gone see palm trees, nice skys and shyt. The actually neighborhood is nice but its the people who make it "bad". And its no way to reverse that effect if everyone who makes something of themselves or turns their life around leaves the neighborhood to live around white people.

When you look at demographics of a bad area its usually shyt like.

80% single parent households, 60% no HS degree, blah blah blah.

If those demographics changed then the hood would change

I can agree on most of this.

nice areas but the ppl are bad...my old hood in philly is an eyesore tbh..not even worth salvaging :snoop:
