In the hood you got to put people in the places that are capable to reach those who are living reckless. Just cause you get paid and move back doesn't mean any of those people are going to listen to you.

I was watching don't sleep with Tj Holmes last night and they were pretty much talking about how to save the hoods in America. It takes the right mouth piece. Most of the blk kids in the hood either want to get rich being a athlete, a rapper or a dope boy and there really isn't any real promise in any of those 3. The 1st 2 really come by luck.

Trailer park communities have a few hundred people if that. Hoods have hundreds of thousands. It's not the same thing.

I get where you are going, but you are skipping over a few things

1. Hood ass areas are dangerous breh regardless of ethnicity (white, black, Latino). I grew up in that sh*t and once I got the chance to get away from that foolishness I did. Nobody is trying to sacrifice their safety out here when they have better options.

2. For any of this to work the people in the 'hood' have to change their mind sets plain and simple. Hood ass people of all races typically have fukked up beliefs and generally concern themselves with bullsh*t.

I agree things need to get better but taking 3 steps back isn't the move.

Face it, the hood's most exciting days are long past gone. Its basically burnt out underachievers that is living back in the "glory days" of the 80s and 90s where killings and drug dealings were an all time high.

I rather let the hipsters and the "sell outs" of the burbs take control of the black community cause they have a more rational, sound solutions for the community as a whole. The "real" nikkas had their chance for nearly 30 years and they blew it.

Growing up I watch all these movies, shows and shyt about a family 'moving on up' and working to get out of the hood and what not, but just recently i been thinking that this is all bullshyt fam real nikka.
Like what exactly is the hood? Why is it so bad that you have to spend ur whole life tryna get out of it and keep your kids away?

Notice how they say the only way to get out of the hood is to get an education and get your money right and you can LEAVE the hood and go live with them white people. But why not stay in the hood and help out? Why not invest your dollars into the community and make it better? Yall doing exactly what they want yall to do, getting that education and spending all your money in THEY neighborhood making their neighborhoods better and bringing more business there, while that could have been used on businesses in the hood to turn it around. The hood is not a place but its just a state of mind. People make a certain place "hood". So thats why they try to get all the good people with education and legal money to leave the hood, so it can stay poor and violent and dangerous. If people with degrees, their own businesses and shyt stay in the hood then it wont be a hood no more instead it wil slowly turn into a thriving black community, which will be most likely located in prime real estate areas in the city.

Any community is going to have some businesses. But in the hood, the black people who have money to start they own shyt are told that they need to move far away, somewhere else and do their thing there because "thats what they should do"

Im saying if we stayed in and put our money back in the hood our communities will be affluent again like they was back in the day.

These places you see on movies, South Dallas, South Chicago, Harlem, Crenshaw, Compton, these places were all once nice places and affluent. It's nothing stopping them from being nice places again.

What's the point of making them affluent again? Racial pride is too abstract a result to want me put in as much effort as moving to the hood and getting others in my SES bracket to move with me. Plus, monoracial communities are boring.
