Me and my friend were discussing how hard it must be growing up in the city for black folks. It started out as us discussing how it must be a constant chip on their shoulder for them to constantly be reminded that they're from the gay mecca of america no matter how tough their hoods actually are. As we discussed it further on why there's always seemed to be a certain quirkiness about them, we came to the conclusion that water-locked societies are always a bit on edge, but also that the values of the san francisco are so extremely euro-centric and the wealth divide so large that they literally have nowhere to so to find a culture similar to theirs immediately outside their neighborhoods. So not only are they living on an island, they're also living on an island within that island which is basically babylon. Double Rock cats are the only ones that could escape it a bit since they're tucked away more in the industrial area and get to be a little more disconnected from all the weirdness that is san francisco at large.
100%. I remember that article that was posted on here about Frisco being the most segregated city in the country. I didn’t completely agree 100% but that article was on to something. Pretty much all black people from Frsico are from the jets. Or some bad neighborhoodall the way in the back of the city
