But this mpc live got me thinking should i bother.. ?
Anyone use a mpc 1000, 2500 , 4000 and such.. Those can be upgraded with all kinds if shythd
Drives. Prob other shyt too.. Soo i know the mpc live looks the part buttt should i think other hardware.. There list other hardware im getting
So i really dont need it..
Before it it was announced i was gonna get a roland sp 606 and use it with imac i have laying around..
Thoughts?
And lets talk hardware brehs
Gets the juices flowing like im 15 again

I had the sp606. got rid of it like a few months later. It's basically a fake mpc without the workflow. Might as well get the real thing.

If you want an MPC get the Ren. or NI Maschine since they are software based. You will need extra hardware to get the most out of old MPCs.

Yea ive seen some ill shyt with the 606.. Most machines outside of the mpc get a bad rep.. Most machines are said to have bad sequencers
. ...i dont want i controller so ill skip on the ren.. But i would fukk with the maschine all i would need is the contelroller i got sofrware.

I use a asr-x most people think its not good or good. But i think its better than a mpc2000 ..but never had the support.. Idk ihave seen later versions of mpcs hooked up nice with hd drives.. Mpc live looks dope but is it worth it?
I need something i can take with me
I might have to take it to some people locally

I use a 4000 , started with at 2000 then a 2000xl.

The new mpc is really what should have come out after the 4000 or even the 5000. Basically an external video monitor for the sequencer with mouse support.

Basically you can easily load sound packages and kits via mpc software vs just wavs or mp3 with the straight hardware. And you have the external monitor plus the addition of a mouse for easier dragging and manipulating of samples.

It can all be done with a 4000 it's just cumbersome.

Yeah the 606 sequencer, note timing and sample editor isn't on the mpc level, but also the skills are not transferable. If you learn an MPC you got the base skills to use them all.

It all depends what you need for your situation. but the live looks nice.

Also the mpc live is going to come stock with the most updated sounds and plug-ins/effects to get the effects of the current tunes of today.

Vs the mpc 4000 which has on board effects a lot of things are replicable but you actually have to learn what they are and how they affect. For instance if you were to mess with the attack or delay or the wet / dry of an effect or Sound / instrument on software you can hit undo, on an mpc hardware often you have to manually toggle it back to hear/see/feel what it does

Let's be honest though, it's only for nostalgia reasons. It's a mpc 4000 at a pawn shop near me for $400 that I'm about to buy for that reason. But after seeing the live and the X what other reason what someone still need the 1000/2000/2500/3000 for?

If you're new to MPC, than Live and X are your best choices. If you're a veteran that has used classic models than I wouldn't budge on them.

nah ive used the 2000 and owned the 500, im a big ensoniq user... but not biased .... it does seem like everything is about nostalgia nowadays with remakes and reboots..mpc live looks great, but i dont need it either, but i am going to be making upgrades

the built in software in too the hardware makes me go

i dont think ill have trouble picking it up ive used many different types of hardware... i
