-I never told anyone not to look me in the eye, that may have been something someone said assuming what I wanted. However, I would understand why an artist would say that. It’s about reaching a level of vulnerability while making or playing your art, and not wanting to worry about being examined while you’re in that process

This is absolute nonsense on her part

This brings me to the following question.. I wonder if D’Angelo got his credit for writing and producing Nothing Even Matters? I know he got credit for playing the Rhodes and doing the finger snaps..

-Me being late to shows isn’t because I don’t respect my fans or their time, but the contrary, It can be argued that I care too much, and insist on things being right. I like to switch my show up regularly, change arrangements, add new songs, etc. This often leads to long sound checks, which leads to doors opening late, which leads to the show getting a late start. This element of perfectionism is about wanting the audience to experience the very best and most authentic musical experience they can from what I do.
Her ego is clearly on some other shyt but this part especially stood out to me. There was numerous shows with people showing up and being let in the doors on time only for her to not even be at the venue. The fact she tries to blame it on late soundchecks and rehearsing lets you know she's on some bullshyt and isn't about personal accountability in the least.

-The Miseducation was the first time I worked with musicians outside of the Fugees who’s report and working relationship was clear. In an effort to create the same level of comfort, I may not have established the necessary boundaries and may have been more inviting than I should have been. In hindsight, I would have handled it differently for the removal of any confusion. And I have handled it differently since, I’m clear and I make clear before someone walks in the door what I am and am not looking for. I may have been inclusive, but these are my songs.

This also sounds crazy to me. So instead of owning up to claiming to have written and produced everything she blames it on letting that production team get to close and not establishing boundaries. She comes off extremely delusional and like someone that has to many people around not calling her on her bullshyt.

She actually sounds a lot like Nikki right now. I hate when women get called out on treating people like shyt they always revert to the "well if I was a man this would be ok" fallback. There's a way to be assertive without being a complete a$$hole or bytch.

All of her juelzing would be well and good IF there wasn’t clear precedent of her unprofessionalism and mistreatment of band members.

Robert Glasper isn’t the FIRST musician to claim that Lauryn was on some shady business practices. She was actually sued by a musican a few years ago for unpaid wages.

She ROUTINELY shows up late for shows and performances. If you “care” so much about your fans, you show up on time and perform as the fans have PAID for. Not only that, she’s notorious for ending performances early. Just an all around unprofessional.

Allllll of this right there, fam.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Miseducation because of the singing to rapping ratio. But this makes it worse for me.
If anything, we may get a truthful biopic (hopefully its truthful) of all the things that went on with her, The Fugees, her solo career, and etc.
I will say this: when I saw her with Nas years ago, she was on time, professional, and gave one of the best performances I had ever seen.

Lol @ her attempt to rationalize how late she is...two fukking hours the last time I saw her with nas. That’s what rehearsal is for...or get on the stage and improvise. But no way the transition in a show between artists should near 2 hours. That’s highly disrespectful, on a weeknight at that!

That said, it hasn’t been until the last five years I’ve heard all this about her not writing much of miseducation and it makes sense to me. Would be one thing if she ever had another body of work, hell, even another song, rivaling where she was at that time but she hasn’t dropped not a one...to me, that says something is up. If that was you, you could keep creating. Erykah Badu is pretty different album to album but each time she shows her brilliance, if Lauryn has a track record like that I’d more easily dismiss the accusations, but she doesn’t :manny:

If you've ever heard "Mystery of Iniquity" it rivals and IMO tops Miseducation.

I don't know why you guys keep doing this. Everything Glasper said was true. It's documented and has been public record for years. This isn't new information.

Why do you guys think he wants to tear her down with information that has been out there since 1999, breh?

She even mentions if Glasper felt that way all along why would he even want to work with her especially when he claims she wronged his friends? Why aren't ya'll questioning Glasper calling her out AFTER his bad experience?

Lauryn was definitely the guide—it was her vision,” Jo says. “Our job was to take whatever was in [her] head and put it down for her.” This led to a building-block process of writing, where a spark would morph into an idea, become a groove and then emerge as a song. “Everybody had jobs,” Pugh remembers. “Vada’s job was to find that groove that made us hum. Then T [Tejumold] and Jo’s job was the instrumentation to enhance that groove. And when the groove was so catchy that it made us hum—either Lauryn or me—then it was time to create those words that she wanted to sing. It was literally constant work; even when you didn’t think you were working, you were working. The vibe was incredible.”

^^^ Words from the people who sued her regarding their role in the album. Now tell me how their account differs from hers. They sued her, but nowhere do they accuse her of theft. Lauryn was sued for not properly distributing credit due to not having paperwork. Now you have illiterates and overall ignorant people to tak that to mean theft.
