Look we probably agree on "what should be done" but I disagree with this AA gang shyt.
And why do you disagree "with this AA gang shyt"? It seems like a personal matter to you.
I believe Yvette and most AA gang are bigots or don't really understand causes of AADOS' plight. It makes no sense for someone to spend this much time on foreigners when the issues for AADOS are tied to capitalism and racism.
Like I said this is a personal matter for you. lol. No "AAgang" and Yvette are NOT bigots. You being non-AA, we just come off as bigots to you(and Im only part AA mind you). The goal Yvette and AAgang been trying to do is DEFINE African-Americans as a
specific ethnic group with a unique history, culture and experience. By doing that we can be like say.... The Palestinians, Native Americans or Kurds or other disenfranchised group and stand on our OWN. Every other group claiming AA coming in and out of the house has made that difficult and confusing. You have groups leeching off of us, one minute claiming our culture/accomplishments and then one minute saying "Im not AA im Bajan!"
By becoming a more specific group AAs can now become ambassadors of our OWN culture which will make culture vulturing even more difficult. It'll be even easier to identify our problems(disenfranchisement since slavery) which is what Yvette has been doing. Heck we been doing this way before Yvette on the Coli with threads like this!
Defining the "African-American"
It only comes off as bigot because non-AA Blacks are not included. As someone who is part Haitian if they are included then the goal WOULD NOT WORK. Haitians have been trying to PRESSURE the French govt for decades. How would Haitians feel if AAs tried to include themselves in this? Their culture, history, etc. Yeah, both groups are Black but the history/experience is different. How would Afro-Brasilians feel if LARGE amounts of AAs start swarming down into say... Bahia or Rio. They look down on the local Afro-Brasilians for being disenfranchised, leech off their culture and then get made when Afro-Brasilians say they can NOT be apart of their reparations because they are not Brasilian descendants of slaves and do not share the same experiences. An Afro-Brasilian can say, "we were enslaved far LONGER than these AAs. They don't share our experience here in BRASIL."
Get what we're saying? There's nothing bigoted about this shyt.
The Coates interview was fukking bullshyt b/c as bad as Bernie's answer was(and it was bad) what was Hillary's views on reparations? Who's policies would have been drastically better for AADOS?
Yeah I agree he was hypocritical. I don't even like Coates. But my point is that he is NOT in the same class as Yvette, Tone Talks or AAgang.
