There are archivists who save things like this, but MTV gave no one a heads-up and just removed everything without giving anyone a chance.
yea they pulled the plug like myspace music did

i lost an entire album of music when they did that. my fault for not making a backup tho

if anybody made anything back in the day, theres kind of an archive

When my parents were divorced. I stay home alone while my siblings were at my moms and my dad was at work.

That summer that Real World New Orelans came out, I watched MTV all fukking day til my dad came home.

I used to do it in his TV room :mjlol:

Great times...:to: but it's over
What does this have to do with the news site?

There's a paper trail within those articles, thus why the website went dark. When I was reading about puffys former cases and etc, I noticed the cuff off date went as far as 2015ish. There's a shift in media because the powers that be has a hand in the cookie jar of something deeper than music.
This is what I was thinking. What would even be the point of making an archival website go dark? Someone wanted to hide something it seems. :sas1:

This is bad for the country to be honest. I almost feel like the government should just buy the archives and preserve it (digitally) in the Library Of Congress.
Why?

That money could be spent helping Israel and Ukraine.

Its weird that they can do reruns after reruns with Ridiculousness, Teen Moms, and Catfish but not music video playlists.

Breh you know whats crazy. I actually had a dream last night that I was trying to figure out the whole point of Ridiciousness. Like I was legit sitting in a chair and seeing ole dude discussing something with a Coli breh and some jawn going "People actually watch this" :dwillhuh:

that sucks. for me, i've never had any expectation that any of this content would be static or forever. if i see something i think want to come back too, i make sure to save it to a place i can access

You can still find most of the cached pages using Bing. Just type what you're looking for then mtv news on Bing. You have to be in desktop mode though. Hit the little triangle beside the link and select cached.
