Nas should've been top 10, Meek might've moved 4 million but Nas got busy in the skreets.

And Jay should not be on the list, he made it once already in a year in which he dropped nothing but 3 features he was #2 (2010).

It's still very odd that Kanye isn't top 5, he could move more units first week than anyone on the list besides Wayne, Drake and K dot moves in total if he dropped next month with the right single.

Everyone on this list had both sales and hits that gave them lasting buzz. Nas did numbers on the charts(which nobody really cares about) and then faded because his singles did nothing at all.

Nas has been represented in hiphop for dropping nothing but pure heat for the past 12 months, nothing else has been said about him.
As far as music goes, he's one of the hottest. Beef, swag, strip clubs, wearing skirts and all that shyt (these are cats I fukks with) aside then Nas has arguably been hotter than Meek and Asap with a lot less promotion and a lot less fukkery.

He lacked a poppy single featuring Drake though.

Imo Meek didn't play a very significant role on those joints.
Any song featuring Drake is hot, didn't know Burn was anything special and Self Made Vol 2 was a group album. With 1 hot single by Wale; Bag of Money, in which Meek played a very insignificant role.

Overall heat, Meek is a new artist, with a lot of young stans with a lot of time for free promotion. But every time I read real magazines, read real blogs, talked to real people in regards to hiphop I heard a lot about Nas in 2012. While Meek just seems to drop a lot of shyt and nothing gets props. Of the amount he drops he should've been on the list. I just think that an artist should be able to 1 album and be appreciated. Anyone can drop 200 songs in a year if only 20 are hot (and those being the ones where you are the least popping artist on the track). I'm not saying that he's cold, I'm just saying that if we adjust for fukkery it's arguable that Nas could've been hotter in 2012.
