Living in Saudi fukks up my time zone. I'm just now hearing about all this shyt.

Trade wise, this can go very well like KD/Russ/Ibaka or very matador like PG/Russ/Adams

Our offense isn't exclusive to Harden; it's dribble dribble top of the key PnR. It's just that nobody on our team BUT Harden (and CP3) could dribble, much less play that role. We all remember the disaster every time Gordon tried. Conversely, CP3's first year him and Harden took turns dribble dribble PnR and it was flawless bc CP3 wasn't flabby yet offensively.

Westbrook's game is inherently dribble dribble PnR. So him and Harden taking turns doing that ish is better than flabby Paul. The problem is we're still undersized on the glass and still have the same painfully one-dimensional role players who are borderline useless if their 3s aren't falling... with free agency all but dried up.
Don't forget we have tyson chandler now.

I’m coming around to the trade. Can’t wait til the schedule comes out. I want to go to one of their first games together.

Russell goin help a lot different aspects of the games that cp3 couldn’t. Rebounding, fast break, secondary scorer, explosiveness in the perimter.

We haven’t had a backcourt this dynamic since Cat and Franchise.

We still need another pf and sf.

I ain’t with the Iggy trade( either. We can get more for our first round pick especially since the consensus is we got worst in the West. Our first round pick is more valuable this year than years pass. I’d rather trade it for Covington than Iggy.

The smart thing to do, that people aren't going to want to hear is have Harden play off the ball more.

Sure he was putting up staggering numbers doing things how he had to do them last year, but he needs easier looks. Everybody keeps trying to imagine what Russ is going to look like off the ball, but nobody is even considering that Harden could be pretty fukking effective playing a little more like Steph. As much as it seems unlikely, the real way to make this work is for the better shooter of the two to come off screens and get spot up more than they're used to. PG had his best year with Russ. Harden could have a similar year and still handle the rock quite a bit more than he did.

No matter where they played they were both going to have to make some adjustments this year, might as well make them for and with each other. Nothing left for either of them to prove individually to not commit to trying to make one another better.

Coach Nick touches on moving Westbrook off the ball here:

I agree with you, because it would give Westbrook the most space possible. He actually had a career high finishing at the rim last year so he may be more under control now and benefit from being in a spread pick and roll situation with a lineup like:
WB
Harden
Gordon
House
Tucker

Harden can iso when WB is out of the game, but I would love to get different looks offensively based on which one, or both, are on the floor.

When both are in, Harden plays more off ball and when he has the ball Westbrook works as a slasher.

When Harden is in we get the offense from last year.

When Westbrook is in he works with Clint in PnR and we run in transition a lot more.

He gotta accept being the SG and letting Harden run the offense. Slash to the rim and re-learn how to shoot.
