Former Miami coach Randy Shannon will be the linebackers coach at Florida, a source said.

Shannon had been linebackers coach at Arkansas the past two seasons.

Shannon was head coach at Miami from 2007 to '10, compiling a 28-22 record.

In 2012, he was linebackers coach at TCU before joining Bret Bielema's staff at Arkansas in 2013.

Shannon is the latest to join new Florida coach Jim McElwain's staff in Gainesville.

I still remember when Randy Shannon was coaching Miami and got mad when we ran up the score on them

But this is a great hire.
