Music is really the only thing that does it for me anymore...

I've been listening to this...noticing the Incredible Pipe Band sample in this and all I just want to do is make music, and DJ and listen to music...


And then this shyt...like this is some heat....


I hate to say it I feel like I've been stuck in my ways musically cause alot of other things havent honestly been interesting me that much.

Like I just need to get behind a pair of turntables right now. Sometimes I feel like because that was what I pretty much excelled at the most out of anything in my life...that that was what I was meant to do. I just want to play parties mad parties and shyt. It's fun. It's relaxing. I loved the days when I had residencies and gigs...but I've been taking a break from that. But I still go out and just been living at the techno clubs and that's honestly why I'm just trying to get back into music 100%. The joy of finding new music, sharing it, and making it and listening to it is pretty much what I live by.

Which is probably why I'm still grinding to this point.

Call me corny or whatev...but my ideal place right now is on a nice yacht behind two technics and a mixer and some big speakers...I always have that in the back of my mind. I can honestly admit that.

People don't even understand that that life it;s some vague vain shyt and alot of people get it but it's some OG shyt. Like I'm at that point. I stopped giving a fukk what other people think about my music and my whatever. I'm gonna be 31 this year...I've doing me now and it's like either you with it, and respect it...or don't. I'm cool with it, I don't argue or get into battles with other people's tastes...fukk with whatever. I fukk with whatever I can find. I do it all. I've been involved in someway shape or form with music since I was probably 7 years old whether listening to it or making music or playing at recitals or like mcing on stage with my friends when they made beats, or freestyling in smoky living rooms, or at my friends house making music, or playing some records on the tables in the basement of the apartment and parents house when I was a teenager..I feel like I've finally reached a point where I can probably just say it's going to be with me in someway shape or form or whatever.

Man I'm not even like that anymore. I just make music and DJ besides my job now. I could care less if its a source of income for me because I love it so much. If I got recognition...sure? That be cool. But I'm just about music enjoying it on a personal level before anything. Cause if you don't love music first and foremost what it is there for really? Some people love it on a base level, but I feel l like it's been an obsession that's consumed the majority of my life.

That's why I just work hard at my real job now and just do it on the side. I still put out albums cause I like making albums just as fun little pet projects where I make the covers invest in ideas and whatever...and that's fun and entertaining and keeps me busy and focused in more ways than one.

I grew up listening to R&B, soul, jazz, reggae, disco, the blues, and like some new wave and late 80s to early 90s pop...then I got into alternative, grunge, punk, metal...cause I was in private catholic school and that's what everybody was into and it rubbed off on me. Then I got into electronica and techno in 1996 and it was over. Surprisingly though I realize that house music was always big in my family for a while since I was little. The first house song I ever got into was "Spin That Wheel" for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie soundtrack when I was 5. And that shyt was like 25 years ago...

My aunts uncles and cousins in jersey would always have those house mix cds playing and I dug for artists from those as well.

High school and college I started really nerding out onf stuff...I always liked stuff like Aphex Twin, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Front 242, but I 've been listening to hip-hop since I was 5 too so it's funny. LOL.

I've just always been into the more involved stuff myself that has body and some alien type texture to it.

They have so much new music it;s crazy...I've honestly have so much music that I just don't even know what to do with it...it seems like that always happens no matter how much I complain about the state of music today. It's nice finding old and new stuff. really nothing to complain about.
