Music is subjective but if you attempt to make a purely objective argument Nas probably has the strongest case

I think we gotta compare Nas's run to Stevie Wonder's. What's Nas's Songs in the Key of Life?

If we're talking about the album that marks the end of Nas' peak in terms of music, God's Son would have to be that album.

Street's Disciple is The Secret Life of Plants. :troll:

Aiight, God's Son is his sixth album. Now we got four other spots:

Music of My Mind =
Talking Book =
Innervisions =
Fulfillingness's First Finale =

Illmatic,
It Was Written, Stillmatic somewhere in these spots. What's the last album?

I don't know if The Lost Tapes counts, but if it does, we can put it up there. It gets as much acclaim as a studio album does and it doesn't sound like a compilation at all.

If not, we can put I Am... in that spot. It has some of Nas' best songs (NYSOM 2, Nas is Like, Hate Me Now), but it's his first album that has multiple skips, so I don't know if it fits the criteria. The good songs are good enough to give it a spot, and some people do believe I Am... is a classic.

We might gotta objective argument if we can put a Stevie-type run on Nas usin' everything up to God's Son.

Ive stated my top 10 all time in here before, but tbh with ALL things considered I dont really think theres a GREAT argument for anyone outside of Nas or Jay being the GOAT

for diff reasons could argue:

Face
Pac
em
kendrick

but I dont think any of the arguments really are good...Nas and jay just did it the best the longest by far at the top of top level

Nas has the worst solo album from a goat contender
nas has the worst double album for a goat contender
and for the last 20 years he has no cultural relevant record even though he dropped like 10 albums.

how his he the goat lol

im out

yall got me wasting my damn time
could be true, but hes also dropped 8 projects in that time period I would consider legit GREAT and 2 classics imo as well as other music, no one even on backhalf of his carreer has as many great songs / projects outside of kanye / kendrick and maybe Game in 05-25 imo and thats throwing out first 10 years of his career

This is a good question. I'm going to say GKMC is a good example of Nas' thematic story telling.

I think 2014 Forest Hills drive did some what as well.

Not to the same degree but I think a case can be made.

wet dreams is just one of those songs I think is a "good song" for sure, I just never wanna hear it again lol

This is an interesting question because I know people who claim Hotter than July is Stevie's best album. At least one person on here iirc. I think Stillmatic would be his SITKOL but that's just me. What are we basing this off? Hits or musicality?
